No, I was poking you, we had an argument about T-shirts and opinions a long time ago.

I dont blame DaMa and Temp for what happened with CAPCOM, to be quite honest. For a number of obvious reasons, and at that time it was pretty clear that RE community is going to dwindle down to less than a handful of sites and the so called "new blood" is going to consist of useless one-post-wonders (for the most part). Might aswell end it with a bang. The decline in sites quality and most important- quality in posters/people/community was on full throttle and there wasnt really much one could do to fix that as DaMa lost interest in RE quite rapidly after RE4.

I had a lot of fun in reH and in its prime it was an amazing community/forum/site which did pretty much everything right. But it stood on enthusiastic people primarily.

As for the whole site-wars thingymajig, it was weak. People who had issues with each other should have solved them like we did at TBF2. 32 vs 32 Battlefield 2

Even Ben Le Rougetel of Capcom Europe knew about the reHorror situation and said about ripping up their Takeuchi interview.

I actually had a lovely chat with Ben about this when I was visiting Capcom Europe back in April 2009. (It wasn't exactly entirely about that, but it was brought up as an example when we came to the part where we were talking about how bloggers/fansites aren't necessarily as easy to coordinate stuff with and deal with when/if things get a bit "wonky.")


Ultimately, the removal request was pretty much what I can only describe as a "friendly request" and Capcom couldn't really do anything, as they themselves had released a demo that wasn't properly scrubbed of all spoiler content. Of course... makes you wonder if they might not do a similar early demo in the future... (but if Lost Planet 2 is an indication, I think we might still be good to go on the super early demo front for big titles)

In all seriousness, didnt the demo cracking actually benefit CAPCOM in terms of viral marketing, word-of-mouth, hype generated by fansites and countless discussions? I couldnt sympathize with them on this issue because they came out clearly ahead because of all the rejuvenited state of the fanbase, which is always largely thanks to analyzing and tinkering with details in videos/demos/interviews.

I blame them for what happened. It was harsh to try and extort Capcom in return for taking the info down, especially when they were doing them a favour already. Can't quite say it went out with a bang either, when its hung in there and not gone out with dignity with its recent incarnations of the site. It was even more retarded to blame me for the entire thing and ban me for it when I had very little to no involvement in it.

And yeah, when I spoke to him it was Feb 2009. They had no legal backing with it so they asked a favour, reHorror declined, but it means that Capcom can decline them any favours in the future too. I know that I'd rather be on friendly terms with Capcom than on their blacklist.

Not particularly. It was heavy in spoiler content and if I remember correctly, had details of some boss fights, the fact that Jill was in the game, locations, all sorts. I don't remember it generating a great deal of hu-ha either to be fair. I think a lot of that was after the later trailers and the whole business of "OMG IS JILL DEAD, IS SHE BIRD WOMAN".

I've got banned from CT-FYFRE, actual CT-STARS, site were I was staff member, soon after I left the staff because of internal problems with other staff members.
The reason to the ban, "data bank reseted" or something like it, I don't remember right. The funny thing is that from all the forum members, I was the only one deleted from the data bank, haha.

I've become angry for some time, couldn't believe that I was banned from a forum that I brought members to and was staff, but soon I let it go. I've my own and without prententious forum now, and I'm having fun on it.
