I often ask my Welsh friends haha

Agreed though, a World Cup is ALWAYS something to be proud of no matter when it was won.

I dunno why anyone could be surprised at Australia getting pounded. That was kinda expected.

Most don't expect Germany to go far in this tournament, though.

What i don't understand, is that England take an unfortunate draw against a team a few places below, and it's panic stations for the English. But Germany beat a side nowhere close in the world rankings, and the media's screaming from the rooftops.

Let the Germans are euphoric now. A win against Australia mustn't be euphoric. But USA is a good team, as demonstrated in the Confederations Cup and will be a revelation team in this tournament, you'll see I'm sure.

We've to laugh about Italy, they have led a team of "grandparents" and I'm excited when one strong team take and send them to home in the second round, sorry but I don't like catenaccio and "luck in the 94th minute".

Good game on tomorrow, Portugal - Cote D'Ivore, the hated Ronaldo vs best african team.

Italy started out the tournament as always. No surprise there. I wouldn't write them off yet.

And yeah, lets not forget that the US beat Spain in the Confederation Cup semi-final match. The US has been improving their game a lot in the past few years.

Judging by how Australia played, the scoreline should have been a lot broader.
We would have been very very very very very happy with a draw, but even that was being overly optimistic. The coach fielded a defensive team with the aim to get a draw, and hopefully will put out more offsenive teams against our games against Ghana and Serbia.

In terms of world rankings, we are 20th, wtih Ghana at 32nd and Serbia at 15th. Hopefully we can be more of a contest against those two sides. For completions sake, Germany are 6th.

Australia were looking likely to make a real go of it in the second half until the ridiculous sending off.

Very happy with my countries efforts today, I expect we'd lose by 2 but we had a draw of 1 all with a goal 20-30 before the end of the match. Amazing.

                              Great result Whites,

You deserve the draw after the Slovakia's goal in offside, but seeing the level offered by both teams, I doubt very much that they've options against Paraguay, much less against Italy, but history is to break it.

Tomorrow will see if Spain is the real deal or just a paper tiger.

Here's hoping they will meet/exceed expectations.
