  • I think what he is wondering is, why you said "amazing?" then mentioned the Slovakian goal, when Michael said it was an amazing game (not goal), which it was. It was intense and interesting, and I thought the goals from Slovakia were very good and they played well.

I'm glad Italy and France are out because it makes it better for England in the later matches, and it also gives some lesser known countries some chance at World Cup glory.

    • Doesn't bother me who is out or who finished what in which group.

It's the World Cup. You go there to beat the best teams to be the best in the World. Bring them all on!

      • @Alexia_Ashford
I was referring to the game infact, because for me that wasn't so amazing, u know...Italy is out and played very bad.
I was just expressing my disappointment cause Robert Vittek scored a goal caused by a questionable corner kick.
But as I said, overall Slovakia deserved the victory and the qualkification.

Ironically I'll probably support England from now on ahahah, after all your coach is Italian LOL
And I do agree about France, I'm glad they're out (even if I think it's pretty weird to not have them in a world cup), but not for the same reason as u... the truth is that France didn't deserve to be in Africa this year, all we know that Trapattoni's Ireland deserved the qualification and that they would have probably put up a better effort than France to this world cup.

        • LOL the European teams supporters in full force. Well, I guess is only natural.

However, being from this side of the pond it's pleasing to know that most of the North & South American teams are doing extremely well.

So, you better not forget about us folks.

          • TBH, I'm glad Italy is out of the cup. I don't like them as a team, and also I didn't like how they tricked France out of the last World Cup (the infamous Zidane headbutt, that was devious). I'm hoping that Netherlands make a great role in the knockouts.

It seems very poor to complain by a corner of Italy's defeat. The goal wasn't from the unfair penalty or offside, we must be a bit serious.

I saw that this could happen, Italy has many players currently on the decline with age. That justifies the bad season of AC Milan or Juventus. Remembering that Internazionale hasn't Italian players (ok Ballotelli).

When I said amazing..., I was referring to the big game brought by the Slovaks. They took the chances they had and the azurris mistakes. I acknowledge that Italy always has good but goooooooooood luck. But I hate his play and now, my friend, I wished that Italy lost.

Don't worry Sun, maybe Spain also is out on tomorrow, but the hope is the last to die.

              • when England qualified to get into the semi-finals yesterday I had to go stand outside because EVERYONE was cheering O_O And I could hear it from my garden, so from that I gathered England got through! Deductive reasoning that!

Glad they got through though, if they hadn't I think the whole population would have gone down with depression.

Yeah, fuck you Italy for Zinadine Zidane not being able to keep his cool in a pressured situation.

I'm glad Italy are out. Much like i'll be glad when Slovakia go out. And when Switzerland go out. Or when every other fucking country goes out having had their 11 grown men rolling around on the floor as if they've been hit by a sniper in the stands. Fuck the theatrics you clown.

It really stood out to me when Uruguay played that they kept doing that. I found myself getting more and more wound up because they kept falling over when they'd not even been touched. I recall at one point a guy touched someone's foot (just barely touched it), and the guy leaped into the air and did a forward flip.

                    • Switzerland v Chile was the worst, a hand to the chest and the guy goes down holding his face, disgusting.

And the Italian rolling in the nets today after they'd scored, a hand in the face and he's saying he was punched. Rolling around the floor, hands over his face, when his team still need a goal to get through to the next round...priorities mate.

Huh? Then what was with the cheering?

                            • ``A player the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, following the faintest of touches, will go down like he was shot,'' said former Miami Fusion coach Ray Hudson. ``It's pathetic and nauseating for the regular fan to see. There are times it is clearly cheating, skulduggery, and FIFA should come down hard retroactively. If no contact was made, a five-game ban. We ought to root out these diving swans.''

As I said before they played better than us and deserved to win, but it's a fact that Robert Vittek scored a goal caused by a questionable corner kick.. just watch the replay, his goal was lecit, spectacular and all but damn...without that corner kick he probably wouldn't have scored it.

Right, but the fact that we currently have too many middle aged players is not the only problem unfortunately , Buffon is injured, Pirlo is still recovering from a left calf injury, plus that moron of Lippi has left out the best, in-form and young players such as Miccoli and Cassano for example.

Oh come on lucky is always an important factor Mike, in every competition, but the fact that we won a World Cup and a 2nd place during the European Cup only 2 days later is not just a quesion of "lucky", maybe we were a good team 2 years ago?
Spain always keep saying that we are lucky, the truth is that we won 4 World Cup, (plus two 2nd place, one 3rd place and one 4th place) while your best and only good score during a WC is a 4th place in the 1950. That's why, so shut up! jk

I don't think so, actually I think Spain is going to win this WC (finally! LOL), afer all it's currently the strongest team alonside the Brazil.
Fernando Torres and David Villa are the most lethal pairing of this World Cup!
