The Walking Dead comics are fantastic. Nothing less. The characters are exceptionally well portrayed and the story just makes sense. I've never had the feeling that anyone, even the main character, is safe. He's certainly suffered a lot of crap. It also shows how the characters are breaking down mentally under the stress, and are even using them to cope with every day life with almost no hope.

I was interested in the TV series before. Now, I'm drooling for it. Seriously, I'm gonna start sacraficing TV executives at the end of each season until the new season has been signed and started. I don't care if season 2 has already been signed...Firefly has taught me any series that is actually good is in terrible, terrible danger. I fully expect to hear this one has been cancelled after the pilot.
Second season has already been greenlighted, and AMC is one of the few TV broadcast companies that are commited to their own shows; breaking bad, mad men are critically aclaim and don't care for stupid view ratings (you can see that these shows always win the top TV awards). This is going to be AMC's little golden egg when you look at the studio behind this. It's going to be here for quite some time and nothing to worry about

Yeah, they look pretty close. But the comic will go on after the first season ends (the comic looks pretty close to completion and is, what, 80 issues long now?) and is, in short, totally and completely awesome. I wanna see the show so much because the comic is incredible.

Just thought I bump the original thread here and just say that the Walking Dead will be airing very soon, on Halloween. This shows has already been comfirmed for two seasons so look forward to this turning out sweet (the first episode has already comfirmed this to be something epic to those who have been able to see it early)

So who caught the premiere? Coming from someone who didn't read the comics, I thought the premiere was absolutely awesome. The first 5 minutes really set the tone for the whole show. It seems to be well-acted, well-written and extremely believable. The makeup job on some of the zombies was pretty awesome...I was also surprised with some of the violence that AMC was able to get away with.

I think TV has found its next new bad-ass in Rick Grimes.

Found out that the show is airing on FX this Friday at 10PM over here. Not too long a wait after the US showing.

And if they follow the comics, Rick Grimes is gonna be...interesting. And the most extremely belivable. So hard not slap down spoilers. Go forth and buy the trade paperbacks or something.

^I agree. I watched it twice, since it repeated about 5 times in a row. I really like the show, and so far it looks like it is all that it was hyped to be. Real survival horror.

With all the hype about this show I thought maybe it wouldnt live up to it but it more than lived up to the hype. I thought it was really awesome. Loved the part where he gets to the city and theres nobody in sight untill he turns that corner....

Cant wait til next week. This is my new favorite show. I watched this and then the new Dexter and usually I love Dexter but Walking Dead entertained me so much I got really bored watching Dexter. Loved so many parts and had me hooked from start to finish. Just hope they can keep that kind of effort up.
