    I didn't even know there was a comic until seeing this thread. I haven't read comics since 1999 so that says a lot...

        If you change your mind, this and Y the Last Man (another series that really could do with a TV show) are great places to start. Avoid Crossed, unless you have a strong stomach. While it falls into the same post apocolyptic/humans have become ravenning monsters type thing, it's...well, it's enough to make me feel ill on occasion.

          Even Mods can double post! Difference is, I look sexy doing it.

          I just watched the second episode. It was...interesting. Not the direction I was expecting, what with them only having six episodes to play with.

          And now, a more detailed and spoiler laden thought process.

              Oh, yes, it was certainly entertaining. It simply didn't have enough in it for it to be a episode all on it's own, no with so few episiodes in total to play with. There's a lot of plot to this series, after all. Plus seeing which cliff hanger they're gonna end it on. If I had to guess, I'd assume it will be;

                  Wait wait wait...only three episodes left of this season? Damn...no wonder they approved of a second already. I was hoping for a longer run. Perhaps season two will have more.

                    Episode 3 was much better. I guess I take back my original statement about the wife seeing what she said to Shane.

                    Keep in mind, I did NOT read the comic so don't spoil anything for me. I'd rather watch the show without knowing what's going to happen to the cast!

                        I have the first 2 episodes recorded but I haven't watched them yet. I've heard nothing but good reviews and all my friends say I'd love it so I'll watch them tomorrow after school.

                          Yeah, season one is only six episodes. Apparently, season two has now been confirmed (when I was looking up stuff a couple of weeks back it was only a strong possibility, not confirmed as first believed) for 12 or 13 episodes. Which, depending on exactly how they do things, could cover a lot of the comic.

                            I can't believe this 'season' is almost over already.

                              I must admit, I'm rather surprised in how things are developing. During the build up and the first episode I think I got into the mindset that, unlike most things based on other things, this one was going to follow the origional storyline very closely. However, that only seems to be because all the stuff from the build up that I saw came from episode one, and that one did follow it pretty closely. So now they're doing things a bit differently, it's throwing me off a little. That's my fault, though, not theres and so I'm trying to not allow it to colour my enjoyment of the show. It's hard to work out if I don't like certain things because they feel off due to knowing the comic's plot, and if they're off due to just being meh.

                              I still can't help but feel the pacing of the show is off, somehow, like they're really dragging this whole part out a lot. Maybe I'm just looking too much to the future. It was much better than last week though, where I felt much of the episode was somewhat unnesecery. If I'm completely honest, I think episodes two and three could probably have been done in one episode without any huge loss to the plot and pacing.

                              I'm not sure if they're trying to make Rick a little more sympathetic. In the comics, at least to me recollection, he wanted to return to the city entirely for guns (in that case, for a great deal more guns...they wanted to raid a whole gunshop) where as here it was two thirds saving people. If they are, they need to be very careful. Rick's later personality changes are interesting and very, very realistic. But they don't make him sympathetic.

                              All told, I'm really enjoying the show. It's the only show I watch close to live (I'll allow the box to start recording so I can fast foward through the adverts, and then start watching) but the random small changes are just odd. Looks like next week might have some more, though. Still, it's better than simply having the same story retold via TV. Makes it so I'm not entirely certain what will happen.
