*ahem* Doomsday would like a word with you. So would Parasite, Metallo and virtually every other supervillian that stepped up to the plate with Superman. It was only after he used his brain and figured out a way to beat them did the fight only last one punch, minus Doomsday anyway.

True. I like when Superman fights with Metallo. Because he really needs to use the old noggin' with that cat.

Anyway, I was aware about all of those badboys. It's just that I doubt that they will use them in the first movie coming up. It will probably be an origin movie of sorts.

That 'god-awful poem with Superman and Lois gets a lot of views on Youtube. And if anyone were to read the comments from those videos, nearly all of them loved every minute of it. So not everyone hates that sequence. Me? I don't mind it at all. It does date the movie. But that's part of the charm of watching the first movie.

When the special edition was being made, some dude wanted to take that scene out and Donner (the original director) was against that. So it stayed.

And why is anyone talking about fighting sequences? How long would a fight against Superman last? Not very long. One punch and game over.

Please link to video so that I may laugh! I think most people are likely reminiscing about the movie in general. It's cool, it's what made me want to rewatch it.... so I re watched the original about a month ago, probably for the first time in almost 2 decades (even though I have the 13 disc box set released in 2006 - which I got to watch the Donner Cut of 2). Maybe it was just the length of time and everything that's come since but the film just has not aged well at all to me. It was a fav of mine when I was a kid... but anyone who thinks that scene is good needs to really rewatch it in the context of the whole film. The flying thing is fine, except the scene goes on far too long and that poem just doesn't work.

Surprisingly II (and the Donner cut) have fared better somehow, barring the bit where Superman uses the S off his chest as a weapon which makes no sense. I think maybe it's because the origin stories often suffer. Once you have it out of the way...

Well suspicions are cleared regarding the combat. As far as villain goes there's plenty of good choices. As far as love interest I really doubt Lohan will be involved given the circumstances.
