  • Green Lantern, what do you expect from it?

Did a search and couldn't find a topic for this. Being the DC nut that I am I'm taking the trailers in and I just can't get excited for this. I dunno if it's just the look of the film (what I can see from the trailer that is) or it's Ryan Reynolds playing the role of Hal Jordan that I can't get my head around. He just doesn't seem like the type of guy you would cast in the role of a well known super hero.

The fan in me wants to like this movie, but the realist side of me thinks it may not turn out so well and I would hate for that to happen.

So what are you opinions/feelings on this movie and how it could turn out???

Well yeah I know this but do you think he can succeed out of his element of being primarily a comedy guy? I'm aware there is a certain latitude with some comic book hero's for jokes here and there but not Ryan Reynolds type jokes.

mmm... I think it will be too much, to much stuff on screen and too much special FXs, but it can turn out to be great too, who knows..

              Mmmm, RR...<33

I think he can pull off roles other than comedic ones. Buried is EXCELLENT proof of this. And he seems like he does his homework when it comes to comics, he seems like a genuine fan. His Wade Wilson couldn't save the movie but damn it was the best ten minutes of the film.

Shows how much research I do when I open my big mouth, I haven't even seen Buried yet but I was wanting to. I've seen Wolverine but I didn't put 2 and 2 together and figure that he was Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool, although I have to say they really boned the character in that one.

I'll check out buried asap and then maybe I'll rethink my stance on the guy. If he doesn't make a good GL though he definitely has a future being a comedian because that guy (whether he helps write the lines or not) can deliver a joke like no other.
