    Some more classic Aliens quotes...

They mostly come at night... mostly. (perhaps the best line evar?)

Hudson: Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?
    Vasquez: No. Have you?

Maybe we could build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

What do you mean, "*They* cut the power"? How could they cut the power, man? They're animals!

I think the dialogue is excellent.. some of it is stuff you would expect to hear in real life but not when you watch a movie.

The fact the picture was clearer with no glasses on when it was meant to be 3D says so much.

Bwahaha, same here. Couldn't see anything with the glasses on and kept having to take them off to see what was going on. Took them off full stop in the end and the film was still crap.

This brings me to one thing even I can appreciate about the latest RE film: real 3D. If people stopped abusing it then it wouldn't be some lame fad people will get sick of when they click they're being scammed to pay more money for a low quality picture... It could be used artistically as intended.

          Are we off topic...?

Technically, yes, but since it's an evolution of the topic rather than a derail I'm fine with it.

The Alien movies were a big inspiration to game companies like Konami. You saw the Alien creatures in the Contra games and even in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games.

Amd lots of Aliens quotes ended up in several games.

Like the "Game over, man! Game's over!" line was heard in Umbrella Chronicles (in the HUNK scenario).

I just hope that Riddley Scott's "Prometheus" has the same level of awesomeoness that Alien had back in the day. And that it also inspires ppl like Anderson and even Cameron on how to make good scifi-horror.

Yah Aliens inspired so many things its better to stop listing them.. Claire/Sherry immediately springs to mind.

Anderson was executive producer on Pandorum, the sci-fi aspects in this movie are awesome, the sci-fi horror not so much. It's a decent flick nearly on par with Event Horizon, too bad they didn't work on the proposed prequel/sequel as originally planned..

Don't forget Metroid! That game was practically Aliens.

Samus was essentially Ellen Ripley, a strong female lead and there's also Ridley, no doubt named after Ridley Scott.

Oh yeah, Metroid. That one is too obvious.

Samus could be seen in her underwear in the original Metroid and also in Metroid II. This was based on the fact that Ellen Ripley strips down to her undies in the first Alien movie.

Samus true identity (that she's female) was a surprise twist that tried to emulate the sense of surprise ppl got when the male lead in Alien dies and the only one that survives is a woman. That was totally a new thing before the Buffy the Vampire/girl power 90's fad came to be.

Oh yes, powerful female protagonists were around since the 80's. Look at Ripley and Sarah Connor for the best examples of this.

Ehh, technically it was shot to be 3D using the proper means so the 3D works better than most movies that get it tacked on, but Anderson doesn't know how to film in 3D very well.

Both were done by Cameron BTW, there is a huge difference between Ripley in 'Alien' and 'Aliens', the Cameron Ripley is the one that everyone remembers.

BTW Spencer, Not Bad for a human.

Actually it was. What is it with people on this site not being able to accept someone likes something different to them without being rude about it? Consider this your only warning to sort out your bad attitude.
