  • Bane from T'he Dark Knight Rises' image....

Interesting teaser image...doesn't show much but it at least gives you an idea of what he's going to look like in the film.

I did kind of expect Tom Hardy to be bulked up a little more, but hey, I'm a Nolan fan. Nolan likes things to be more grounded than other directors and I appreciate that greatly.

Looking forward to more DKR stuff .

Neither of them can put a dent in the greatest villain in comic book movie history.

Interesting design for Bane, from what I can see. Can't wait to see more!

Ok, good, based on the design of the mask, it looks like Venom, Bane's greatest asset and what makes him really stand out, will be in the film. Though, that still leaves out rather they'll have Bane be become ultra bulk. I'd like to believe that they have some CGI crew who can make that shit not appear "uncanny" but I have a feeling we will just have to assume the Venom is working despite the lack of visual evidence when Bane starts going HULKSMASH on Batsy's ass.

You're making the assumption that it's "comic book Bane" that will feature in the film though. So far Nolan's series has been very much rooted in the real world with a reliance on the suspension of disbelief. A supersized Bane might not fit so well in that universe.

I don't know why, but i think i still prefere the old Bane(Batman Returns)....srly, i think it's because on that time i was little and he used to scare the crap out of me...L O L

And i agree with Stu, for now his series are too much related with reality in a sort of "almost crazy" way...a HUGE Bane would be kinda weird...

Well yeah, thats because your absolutely right.

Nolans universe has been more down to earth than all the other films and 'Bane the giant bulk' doesn't fit in.

However if Bane was just a normal really strong guy was was taking like experimental steroids and other drugs and stuff to make him an adrenaline freak that'd fit in much better...and be far creepier.

The only Batman film I've liked was the Burton original. Returns was boring, Forever/& Robin too camp, Begins and Dark Knight trying too hard too be serious to remain faithful to the characters.

I would have assumed Nolan would have chosen villains who didn't have overwhelming powers & gadgets to fit with his grounded view; Bane isn't one of them.

                          Bane can be though, easily.

I don't think I've ever disagreed so much on a post here before.

Completely disagree right here. Nolan's universe is more faithful to the modern age, of Batman, than any of the others (Burtons being a mix of the Silver age and Modern. The best thing about it was how he brought Gotham to life in the films) have done and by far adapted a lot of the source material in many areas (however with the Joker's origins he didn't want to touch because there's so many variations and it's already been "done" so wanted to leave that open to the person because it fits more to the persona he and Ledger created on the Joker) that's been with DC.
