Note to Alzaire your not the only one who reads Outpost 31, Class website and its really picked up again as of late. Glad to see a die hard fan on here. The last time I spoke about 'The Thing' on this website someone....not mentioning any names said that they felt Event Horizon was a better movie. Glad to see there are some classy people here after all.

Trailer looked good, glad they didnt show to much of the monsters. Some pretty good actors have signed on to and some I am favorites of so I should be genuinley routing for them untill their chest bursts open and eats the doc's hands. I noticed there are a few people behind this movie who were involved with the Dawn Of The Dead Remake, the only remake in my mind that was worth a damn. Friday the 13th is a good shout to except for the ending. Hyped for this film and I will get my hopes up and still be able to enjoy it. The only film I ever got hyped up for and was mega dissapointed was...well shouldnt be to hard to guess that one.

Hmm.... Im not sure how optimistic I am about this one. I like the prequel Idea though, i always wanted to see how events unfolded on the nowegian base. Problem is it looks a bit too.... modern day hollywood if you get me, there was some big explosions, CGI aliens that dont look quite realistic enough etc. The music reminded me a bit of Inception though and the very beginning of the trailer reminded me so much of AVP I laughed. However from some of the scenes shown in the trailer it looks like the film retains what im hoping will be a lot of the tension evident in carpenters film.
However This is just one trailer and the film could be really good! which I hope it will be because John Carpenters version of the thing was truly a brilliant film and if this film is anything like it then it should be great.

I believe I read that the there might be a few scenes at the end of the movie that take place -after- the original movie, but I'm not sure. Gonna be interesting.

Personally, I hope the only "survivors" in the movie are the 2 that chase after Jed in the helicopter. But there are a number of unaccounted for bodies from the Norwegian outpost. From the first movie, there were 10 Norwegians and now we add the small supply crew that flies Kate into the base, so probably 14-15 people. We have the 2 in the helicopter, split-face thing which seems to be maybe 2 people, slit-throat corpse, and the (deleted scene in movie, but also in book) corpse found in a locker at the base. So roughly 6 bodies accounted for. Leaving half of the people from the base unknown. Obviously anyone who's seen the first movie knows that 2 of the Norwegians survive and chase the dog, but unless they surprise everyone (most people are expecting Kate and Carter to survive, or at least Kate) then I'm betting that we're gonna have something like two teams of survivors. One team being the two that chase after the dog and reach Outpost 31, and another team (Kate and Carter probably) that chase after another Thing that runs off in another direction.

Possibly. There does seems to be a action scene of some sort in the spaceship which involves Carter and Kate which is likely at the climax of the movie.

I'd say the spilt face thing was at least three or four people, I'm super pumped about this movie the more I hear about it, maybe it ties in with the videogame, but that took place after the movie so I dunno
