I actually didn't know about it until I read this topic. I actually thought it was interesting reading the posts on WoW, how someone can act normal talking about Cata and raids, all while planning mass murder.

Wrong. I'm upset because I have friends in Oslo and that city was bombed. Norway is my home, I was raised and educated here. Now my country is attacked. I also feel really bad about the children that were in the camp. You're THIA Staff, you should at least think twice before making a thread - on any topic that may be. Furthermore, how can you as staff not care that people might get offended by your thread?

There are so many unaswered questions around this. The bomb was apparently 500kg, how in the heck did he get that amount of explosives into that building? You don't just walk in with that stuff into a government building. Also, that guy must be very effective having set off the explosives, then taken a ride in a car full of more explosives to an island several kilometers away from Oslo...

Yes, but the explosion seemed to be internal; the prime and justice ministers' offices were heavily burning. Seems to indicate that the bomb was somehow located "inside" the building. I guess the theory is that he simply drove the van inside, using his disguise, then detonated the bomb at a distance.

Nah. Know it's a small country and this is only about an hour-or-so from my place, but ... well ... I missed out, but I heard it was quite a blast.

Basically, 21 years is what he'll get for the bombing itself. The shooting however more or less pits him in the same pit as those who "achieve" a high amount of years in prison here. Upon the time of their release, there'll be an evaluation of his current state of mind and how he'll "fit in" with society and what the severity of his crime was ... A process which more or less technically allows them to either lock him up in a mental hospital or keep him behind bars on an indefinable amount of time until the day he dies.


However, keep in mind that prison here is treated as a correction process and not a punishment. The high standards of the prisons and such are part of a larger attempt at trying to turn criminals into upstanding citizens who'll function in a normal environment with everyone else (Reward and encourage good behavior, rather than punish bad behavior.)



By the way, numbers are now up at 92. 7 at the bombing site and 85 on the island. Numbers are still likely to increase.
