It's doubly bizarre given the shitfest Marvel kicked up when someone suggested an Avengers team (not the main Avengers team, but one of the offshoot ones) that was made up mostly or entirely of non-white characters. The editor who rejected the plan claimed it would be putting an 'agenda' into the comics.

I haven't read anything about the new kid, so I have no idea how well they're writing him. But such is life.

That IS ironic. Cudos for not pandering, but yeah. Let's hope this kid walks in the steps of previous Marvel characters, personality before things like race. Spiderman in particular needs it after what Quesada put it through...

Carlie Cooper shares the name of Joe Quesada's daughter, and is very much a Mary-Sue. Everyone thinks she's so perfect and is perfect for Peter, she's so smart and nerdy, which means she's better for Peter than MJ apparently. :/ NO ONE likes her, yet aggrivatingly enough, in the special issue about Spiderman's lovers, on the cover was MJ, Gwen, Felicia, and...Carlie. One of these things is not like the other.

You know, if that is not DOWNRIGHT proof that every editorial mandate Quesada has forcefeed on Spider-Man since his editorial reign began, I don't know what is. The man has been on a personal crusade to *fix* Spider-Man, ruin X-Men(House of M--I'm looking at YOU!), and pump up the Avengers like it's the true iconic face of Marvel or something. Sorry, but, no matter the money they squander on trying to make the Avengers characters equal up to likes of popularity as Spidey, X-Men, Batman (casual, household name popularity speaking), they're not going to make those characters superior mainstream successes.

I just have to shake my head at it, really. I know Quesada isn't EiC anymore, so hopefully soon someone will have the balls to rectify things and salvage what can be salvage. I am simply baffled at why this man single-handily gets away with all these decisions, and they keep trying to forcefeed their changes despite the growing voices of dissection. But really, what happened to the days of telling good stories, and not being afraid to grow the characters and take them to different places?

This One More Day shit is nothing short of mockery upon twenty years of continuity, more or less. And by the description of Carlie. . .I can't help but think of this.

God I love Norman Osborn. Making him "sane" and turning him into an Iron Man clone is so LAME. Osborn is to Peter Parker what the Joker is to Batman, after all. He's just a great, remorseless bastard. Sometimes, that's all it takes for an effective villain.

And I do love when they find ways of sneaking in references to his attraction to blondes, specifically a certain panel from his run in Thunderbolts. . . but I can't seem to find the actual panel.

Jesus Christ. The girl sounds like she has some severe issues. But funny how it all turns out okay in the end. Pretty lame. Yeah, she's no MJ, Gwen Stacy, Felicia by any stretch. But really, what can you expect when the best creative they have for new Spidey villians are Mr. Negative, Anti-Venom(okay, not a villian), yet another goblin wannbe with Meance. Seriously, these sound like names a third-grader thinks up.

I certainly wouldn't mind it, but really, when you got the real thing on hand, why bother? The Hobgoblin was created in the first place just so there could be a goblin to antagonize Peter since Norman was, errr. . .dead and all. That, and I suppose they didn't want to go back to Harry. Seriously, there's been too many Goblins. Hobgoblin, Jack-o-Lantern, Menace, and another one I know I'm forgetting. Either way, nothing's better than the original.

Here's the proof. My favorite episode of the Spider-Man TAS. It's incredible how this is the ONLY real adaptation of Gwen Stacy's death. . .and it's an adaptation wihout Gwen Stacy or "killing". Not to mention the fabulous performance by one of my favorite VA's, Neil Ross, as Norman/Goblin. Damn, I know this episode so well, I can recite entire quotes from my memory alone. Though, I'm not sure if that's a good thing, lol.

No, the "Respawn lol" one is from the 2008 Deadpool comics while the one you posted that you said is related is from a older issue (which I have yet to read. I've been too busy to read any lately).
