BUT! To the facts. You're the one insisting that A) the whole of Europe is now a single country and B) insist it's controlled by an undemocratic process. Now, assuming that supposition A) is correct, what would Europe most easily compare to? The US, for each Europeon member State taking the place of the, well, various States. Hence why I am.
To be fair, you do come across as rather trollish.

Actually if anything the EU would most easily compare to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Both are socialist states with a power elite that holds ultimate control, all under the guise of a loose coalition of states.

Might I bring up Gabby Giffords? The Virginia Tech shooting? Columbine?

I believe in the right to bear arms, but some people can get their hands on them too easily. The kind who shouldn't own a gun.

Because all the capitalist countries have such a well distribuited econonomy for its whole population.

Compared to socialist and communist countries, they do, they really do.

This, from the guy who labels a whole continent socialist because they have public healthcare in some countries, wilfully and blindly ignores all evidence, facts and figures showing him wrong? You just did it again, right there. Calling Europe a socialist state and ignoring my pointing out that the Electoral College is no better, to a point where some Americans want it gone.

I'm not a troll, of this I assure you. I do have my problems, though...

That's the thing. I'm honestly not sure how easy it is to get guns in the States. I know it's much harder to get them here, is about all. The right to own a firearm should never be determined by 'have you got the cash for it?' but 'have you got the capacity to use it correctly, for defence, shooting, etc.' I'm sure there must be more to it than handing over cash, though. Can someone clue me in?

You mean except for the fact that the electoral college is democratic and the EUSSR isn't? And nobody is calling any continent socialist, you're just putting words in peoples mouths again. There's a gigantic difference between anti-European and anti-EU.

... prove it. Show me how having people who can ignore the will of the people and vote how they, or there wallet, dictates is democratic. And don't tell me they can't do that unless you can prove that, too. I've shown both. Prove me wrong. Or shut the hell up.

And dude, you've said a whole bunch of time what a socialist hellhole Europe is. I don't even need to touch that one.

Sure, no problem. I would like to point out that no insult was intended though, similar to the post stating that I am without a doubt brainwashed and unable to think for myself.
I guess I'm just a special kind of funny.

Not even going to get into the debate - I hate all politicians (regardless of "party") by default - but you can't honestly think the Electoral College system prevents one state from having more influence than another. Given that number of electoral votes is determined by population, and states like New York and California have way too damn many people, it's clear to see that doesn't come to fruition.

If the system worked as you said, then every state would have exactly one vote, regardless of population. If a majority in the state vote one way-that should be THE vote, end of discussion. As it stands, to say that California's 53 votes versus Arkansas's 6 doesn't create an imbalance is laughable.

Americans don't need guns. Nobody (the public) does.

I'd disagree with that. I don't think people need guns for defence unless criminals are commonly armed with them (and in countries where guns are hard to get hold of and the cops don't, many criminals won't bother) but certain jobs, like being a farmer, do...not require a gun, I suppose there are other ways to do it, but it's helpful to have one. Although now that I think about it, I can't really think of any other jobs that would be easier with one.

It works because say New York has 10, and North Dakota has 4. Well then let's say Alaska and South Dakota also have 4. Those three states combined defeat New York, whereas if you went by total population New York would have more power than a third of the states in the entire country combined.
