The man had a love for film. People these days would study the art, work their way from the ground up and experiment with the equipment themselves. But not Kim. He saw fit to go the extra mile and kidnap a South Korean filmmaker to make the movies he wanted to make including a nifty monster movie from what I understand.

More like monster movie knock-offs because he banned all of the actual films and so he forced them to make rip-offs of films he liked and forced them upon the public from what I recall.

NK has a bit more to it than some taliban/iraqi regime, contary to popular belief its quite a stable country with its own tech and so on. They won't concede with anything less than control of the SK government.. the whole isolation thing has been taken very far but they're still very much in the game.. strong military position and able to decimate SK very quickly. Though they must be hating the day they had tons of tanks down south and still lost.. most people supported North Korea during the civil war as communism was easier to understand than the American dream.
