Chris story is my favorite, pretty emotional
also, can anyone remind me what ever happened to China after the ending? Did they just bomb up the whole place or what?

This game sometimes feels like a parody of all the worst things you can imagine happening in action and horror movies. It's like amplified 10 times. A truck explodes, it makes the whole highway explode, you ride an helicopter, but the pilot turns into a zombie, you have to avoid buildings with QTE, you crash, you survive, but you then have to avoid the collapsing roof, then you end up miraculously in the same room with the big boss you've spent most of the chapter fighting already, etc... explosions explosions explosions.
I mean come on, even the transformers movies aren't THAT crazy when it comes to explosions and stupid action. It's really too much. And it's filled with running and QTE sequences... urgh...
They should get rid of all those QTE, running away from explosions or monsters, and linearity. Leon's chapter played in an old-school way, or even something similar to the open environments of RE4, could have resulted in something really incredible.
Some game design decisions sounds like it was made by an amateur team
But, we talking about capcom... They forget how to do a great game?
So, i'm not asking anymore for a resi game, they wont give me one... But making at least a decent game is asking too much?
I gave up
If those douches producers think its good and fun
They can go ahead and keep this, im done
I can play good war/shooters games (tps or fps), good action games with tons of explosions, etc
But not this whole stuff in a RE game or made with crap decisions
My thoughs on next RE score is 2.5 and a mediocre 33< metacritics score
They can try to make the fun factor with a decent gameplay and good mechanics, but who knows?

We arent the audience the series is aimed at anymore, which is still incredibly insulting after spending over 10 years supporting the series financially among other things, so our opinions don't really matter unless theres a huge uproar.
The chases using veichles in cod is nice, fun to play, simple to control
They also do great cutscenes for action stuff without forcing us play crappy qtes
This can be found in most recently and previously cods, not only just talk about cod
But most warfare modern games take advantage on consistent gameplay for every serves it takes
A recent example: the new medal of honor game has awesomes car chases, we can watch on youtube they are just awesome and not booring like capcom did.
Re just became booring in this way

The game is just one big action movie cliche in my eyes, it's like a movie with a bunch of meaningless video game filler that got more wrong than it got right.
On a side note, RE6 doesn't take anything from Dead Space. Dead Space is actually a decent horror game that tries to stay true to the genre, RE6 almost completely abandons the things the genre lives for and if it did take anything from Dead Space it would be a much better game for it.
Capcom team for resi 6 have make these fights phases and present this to producers
So our geniouses resi 6 producers liked all of them and just decided to use these all boss fights
No matter if it is good or no, and not happy with this they decided to make the giant colossal bug thing for the greatest lame finale
I'm really okay with boss phases and take some clever time for being beat, but they need to know how to do this in a smart and enjoyable wayLast edited by TheSelfishGene; 10-21-2012, 05:33 AM.

If you grew up with the series you would know by now that the story is mostly told by the files......

1) Simmons created the C-Virus because the U.S. government, in 1998, was interested in biological weapons. The reason they negotiated with Birkin was to obtain him and the G-Virus, which would allow them to produce their own B.O.W.s and not have to purchase them from Umbrella. Simmons was one of the main figures who advocated the use of bioweapons.
2) The Family are an organization originally founded by the Simmons family who have lots of money and extensive networks around the globe, and conduct secret activities in order to ensure global stability.
3) Carla is a copy of Ada Wong. She was created by modifying a Chrysalid with Ada's DNA, while Carla Radames had a similar enough genetic structure to actually become Ada. Play Ada's campaign.
4) How do you think Wesker was able to adapt to the Progenitor Virus in the first place? His genetic makeup produces certain anti-bodies that allow him to adapt to Progenitor or nullify many of the viruses derived from it. Jake inherited this natural trait. It has absolutely nothing to do with Wesker's injection in 1998.
5) Sherry was NEVER captured by Wesker. She was always in the custody of the U.S. government, however Wesker had spies in the department responsible for monitoring her, so she was within his grasp. For whatever reason (presumably because he already acquired the G-Virus elsewhere) he didn't need her in the end.

The series has "jumped the shark", I honestly have no idea what the story or RE6 was. The game was so awful at explaining things (Why did Simmons create the C-Virus? Who is "The Family"? Is Ada a clone or is Carla a clone? Are they even clones at all? Why does Jake have special antibodies in his blood if he was born in 1992 and Wesker wasn't injected with the special virus until 1998? How did Sherry escape from Wesker, as referenced in Wesker's Report?)

I've been a RE fan for something like 12 years. I grew up with these games, I love the series. This year, we had three games!! I was excited. Revelations was amazing...raised my hopes for RE6 by a lot! I haven't bothered with ORC, heard it was shit...but RE6...I wanted it to be amazing.

The gameplay was shit. It was waaaay too easy, too many QTE's too much action. It's like they played the Gears of War games and wanted to make something even FASTER paced and MORE action?? Gah. It's time for a reboot. Honestly, the series has become so weird and contrived, it doesn't even know what it is anymore.

That seems to have been eliminated in favor of shorter quicker tasks in smaller contained areas while you 'get to the roof', 'kill the creepy crawlers', 'save the hostages', get out of the building before we nuke you...NUKE YOU!

That's how I feel about it. Not sure how you or anyone else felt about it. I was posting my impressions on it. No real harm done with that, right?
The controls felt awkward as hell and really...in a survival game, who gives a shit about stuff like hostages? What about watching your own ass? Its bad enough that I have to run around with the new control scheme they came up with, but now I have to watch out for multiple NPC's?
Its an awful game all around. It really is. Its bad enough they took 'bigger is better' to heart in the scale of monsters, quicktime events, and now vehicular sequences. But the fact that the story is as minimal as it could be and we're given several new flat characters make it even more painful. Its takes a lot of incompetence to make Sherry Birkin, who we've all wanted to see come back into the series, a boring peice of filler.
I think the best example of how redundant this game is, is Leons Boss fight with Simmons.
He turns into a monster...you blast him, he reverts back to human form, he turns into a bigger monster, you blast him, he returns to human form.He turns into an even BIGGER monster, you blast him, he falls off the edge of a building, returns to human form in midfall and is impaled on a silly ass statue holding a sword and dies.
Really? You're telling me that you blast him to shit with guns, rocket launchers, and gas tankers and all you had to really do to kill him was use a sword? This guy whose infected with a new horrible, terrible virus thats now an uncontrollable unstoppable beast...just needs to be stabbed?
Does the paragraph of fail I just summarized not sound like the perfect example of redundancy the series has now entered? Its always had its share of silly crap, but its never been as bad as this. This makes Weskers Death in RE5 almost seem poetic.
The reset switch needs to be hit, the clowns who wrote and directed the last 2 games fired, and for the love of god, they NEED to the series basics and rebuild from there. They keep just taking shit from Gears of war and Dead space now and it really is just awful.
Still these are just my opinions, I'm tired of hating a series I grew up with get worse with every entry as they continue to pander to the new fanbase and ignore the original fanbase.
The reboot switch needs to be hit harder than Rupert Murdoch. Fuck finishing this shitty new story arc, its going downhill faster than you can say 'Dubstep'.Last edited by Wrathborne; 10-19-2012, 09:15 PM.
