But what's the point of bringing him back? It will just ruin completely the series storywise and negate what happened in RE5. I know a lot of people are disappointed by the way Wesker was handled in RE5, but at least that game concluded all the Wesker/Chris/Umbrella arc. I thought it was a good thing for the series and they could have focused more on Ada/Leon after that.
RE6 was rather disappointing not because Wesker wasn't present, but because there was potential for a new antagonist and they completely screwed up.
Simmons could have become a great villain. He was responsible for Raccoon's destruction and was related to Ada. He also killed the President. There was great material there for Simmons to become the new Wesker by manipulating the events from behind the scenes since the beginning with his Family and by becoming Leon's rival.
Yet, Capcom chose to transform him into a big fly and to kill him. It's a shame, really.
Capcom can make a good new villain, but they need to think for future entries and not just for one game.
If Wesker comes back, it will become cheap fan service with no substance behind it. Honestly, I'm amazed "fans" want Wesker back, because it will jeopardize the series even more.
