Lately it seems as though the long-time fans know the series better than anyone currently employed by Capcom. Send in that résumé, News Bot.

      Idea: End the series already.
      Idea: No.
Idea: Hand off the series to another development team with full artistic licence.
At least it's worth a shot. You never know.
      Wrong. We know quite well.
Because every company is exactly the same, right?
Either make CAPCOM handle it to the right people or just end with their garbage once and for all.

You invest twenty mil in a game, you almost have to be sure that you're getting thirty back out (or whatever profit margin a successful game enjoys) and so risks just don't happen.

Which is a shame, because it essentially means we've got a generation of games that are all the same.
Look at Rockstar Games, They invested 260 million dollars in GTA V's development (which is the most expensive game made to date). and even took risks in giving the game 3 main characters for the regular storyline including a create a character for the online story(yes GTA Online actually takes place a month before GTAV). and look the game sold triple the amount on day one. Rockstar still has their developers and director's(Lezlie Benzies, Samand Dan Houser) since when GTA 1 was release on the PS1 back in 97. Who does Capcom have? No one. Why? because they all walked out on them because of poor management, going behind the creators back. and I don't blame them. Shinji and the others that worked on the first 3 games knew what worked and what didn't. and now with them gone the franchise will never recover. Resident Evil needs Mikami, plain and simple.

not all game companies are afraid to take risks.

I can think of a number of people the series needs and Mikami is not one of them.

Hand it to Visceral games(now EA). Guarranted win. The thing is in the end Capcom will always have the last word, it was the case with DMC,for example.

Dead Space 3 is literally the same game Resident Evil 6, what're you talking about?

Funny, I don't remember dead space 6 having an over abundance of playable characters who got too little time. Nor do I remember a half-assed story that simply recycled the same old crap that we've gone through before.

Did dead space 3 have micro transactions and was said transactions crappy? Yes, but visceral managed to placate their ea masters and the players by making said transactions, utterly insignificant.

Dead space 3 had better voice work, better visuals, a far better setting, and actually had some creepy moments. Not to mention, its a thrill to play, fun to use the custom weapon building, and the enemies never lose the oomph they have had. Compare that to 6, where the enemies are a bore to fight, the characters are mentally deficient, and even the animations and setting is half-assed.

I'd compare DS3 more to RE5 and both those titles are a blast to play with a friend. RE6 is such a interesting subject as a game developer looking at the big boys product, it's downgrades and flaws to it's almost cheap freelancer assets. The game just has that slave mill look and feel to it in so many areas.

I know RE5 is not regarded as an amazing game by fans but at least it was a higher quality and more finely tuned game then RE6's bloated mess.

That I can agree with, though I do think dead space 3 did coop better. Sheva was kinda just...there. Carter's involvement would always be there, but how much you saw depended if you were in single player or coop.

I think you may have got that mixed up, Sheva plays a major role in RE5 compared to a optional co-op partner. Her AI might have been frustrating but she is there even in single player for a reason.

They're both mediocre action filled TPS from former horror franchise with a co-op mode no-one asked for.

And I prefer the little screen time for the characer in RE6 than DS3's love triangle.
