The problem isn't the co-op, but the integration and how it affects the gameplay, so the devs not being able to "fix that" is on them, but if they'd still gone single player on them both ... you'd have fans still nagging about how they want co-op and how it was a disgrace and shame and whatever that RE1 didn't have co-op and ... yeah, you know the drill

i wouldnt argue there. dead space is a really delicious cake that is savoured. i loved the first game where those guys thought about everything. and I mean EVERYTHING. even when you die you see what you had for lunch......or at least the byproduct of it

Please leave Tameem out of resident evil..........he ruined DMC already so why kill resident evil with two retards? Paul WS. Anderson and Tameem Antioniades. yuck. dante already looks like him when he was younger, when he has the goofy haircut he looks like the reporter guy and when hes bald he looks like mundus.

I liked the OP. It has much sarcasm to it, which could reflect how the elite fans actually feel in regards to the direction the series took post RE4. However, one also has to remember that the horror genre is very niche in that it doesn't have the broader market, unlike overrated action titles. So the folks at Capcom realize that action (sadly) outdoes horror by miles.
I would love a mix of both. But as we know, Capcom has already attempted this, with mixed results. I commend the effort, but I think the core base has and always will be horror. Capcom needs to pay close attention to The Evil Within. Although that arguably looks to be following a similar trend of "Action Horror" from its trailers.

In regards to co-op and survival horror I think it's fun for a side game or something maybe, but definitely not shoehorned into the main entries just because they think it's going to generate more numbers. At least Visceral took this into consideration but I felt like DS3 had more problems to it than co-op.sigpic

I'd honestly prefer some sort of spin off title or deviation from the main canon, something that gives them the freedom to experiment and reinvent the series without impacting the current narrative. Create two new characters, male and female, put them in a zombie survival horror situation, make it atmospheric and dynamic, and most of all make it scary. It would be the best for everyone I feel to side step, most importantly the development team who would have more creative freedom by not having to adhere to certain paradigms in the series. This is where the series went wrong for me, revisiting Jill in BIO3, Claire in CV and Leon in BIO4 was nice, but since then Capcom have never been truly creative when it came to the series, they've just carried on reusing staple characters instead of putting new faces into the nightmare on their own to fend for them selves.Last edited by Guest; 02-01-2014, 10:44 PM.
