Well im proud of my score because i used epsxe with keyboard only(joystick not available), it take some guts to do the speedrun that i did with keyboard buttons ! unfortunately i had to turn on the auto aim, but i tried not to rely on it as much as possible !
Edit: i would love to do a hunk speedrun because its all about dodging enemies and no key items needed, but i don't have the completed savedata unless i play the sourcenext version with hunk scenario unlocked from the beginning !

The game has to be beaten with the default configuration, that means, no auto-aim.

EDIT: And no, Marvin. It's not PAL. I've already got my NTSC copy and I'll be doing my speedrun now.

Okay so here is my quality test. video of practicing movement perfection.

Recorder: Dxtory
Emulator: PSX 1.13
Controller: Keyboard
Codec [in Dxtroy]: Microsoft Video 1; TempQ:1.00; KeyFrame:5; Quality:100
Recording FPS: 60
Lenght: 01:20, filesize 28 312KB. This is quite okay in filesize and time.
1 hour video would be roughly over 1GB, witch can be then sent to youtube. [ hallelujah upload ]
Edit: SWITCH to 480 to get higher FPS.

I made a new smooth speedrun, better than the second one, but the problem is that i've ended up with a 48gb of size, what should i do to squeeze the size?
Edit: i figured it out, open xilisoft video converter ultimate edition, then choose "psp-H.264 video for tv" profile, then set video size at 640x480, video&audio to high quality, and start the conversation process, you will end up with 1.78gb of size, finally use handbrake to compress the 1.78gb file into 200mb with great quality !

Alright, I have played the game in the NTSC version for the 50th time.
I have died millions of times, I have made too many dumb moves and I lost all my patience. So I won't play it again.

good job, don't give up yet, rest 4-5 days, and give it a re-chance, I have still not yet made final run. Though I complete game 2-3 times per day, not speeding much just playing safe to get know my path and enemies by heart. I will start doing speedruns at next week.

Marvin you should add a new rule, when the contestant post his video, he/she can't repost another new video afterwards, so they must make sure its their final speedrun video and then post the link !

I started a run tonight - Playing NTSC-J version on Dreamcast.
Playing arrange mode so I have US&PAL enemy placements.

I'm up to the sewers, just before taking control of Ada. I haven't had my health reduced to caution yet, but I have used a green herb to clear up inventory space.
It's been a good 2-3 years since I've played LeonA with the intent of speed running (usually I play on Nightmare difficulty. Get a Dreamcast or PC version and try it ;) ). There's a lot I could tighten up, but feeling pretty good.

I watched parts of alinhoalisson's run to see how he did things. I always fight outside the dark room, I didn't know you could dodge everything like that
But I think I handle the first licker better (I don't fight it, but walking near it might make my overall time a little slower. However it doesn't damage me).
I'm looking forward to what I get. I don't have facility to record video, so I might just take a photo of the results screen. And you guys will have to trust me.

I might have be between jobs next week. If I get my new job I'll probably have a couple more weeks to spend on this

EDIT: I was going to suggest no PC or GC versions since you can skip ingame cinematics. Then I saw the rule for PSX only. I guess that rules me out. I'm still having fun playing along though

I just did a run and ... poison. Yay. Out of curiosity, I completed the run, but I don't know how much time I lost limping around (I was running around on danger status for a good while). Final time was ~ 1 hour 21 minutes. I think I have a good shot at the beating the 1 hour 19 minute record =)
