He was Grant Bitman in the original game design document at the beginning of development, so roughly April 96. It had probably changed by the time they showed anything to the public. Although, if I'm not mistaken, they never named the male protagonist at the games unveil during V-Jump 96, just that the female protagonist was named Elza. All art could be named Leon in retrospect because that's what the character became. I mean, you will very rarely see those really early BioHazard designs of Chris with his original name of Johnny Lazer or whatever the fuck his original name was.

Here's a small map I made of the alpha lobby using the images in this thread as a reference. Not exact but gives you a good idea on the shape of the room. If they went with this design the RPD would have been very different! It reminds me a lot of the retail offices actually with the wooden office divides, it's interesting that the further they developed 1.5, the further away they got from the alpha design and the closer they went back to it in the retail game.

I wonder if Cheif Iron's original version also led to a dungeon.

Was it ever confirmed that there were two doors in the alpha office? It's possible they just changed the position of the door.

                    Which office specifically?

It's highly unlikely that there were two doors to his office. The position of the door in the alpha build shows that his office was originally meant to be accessed from the 3F Lift Hall rather than from the main 3F corridor. This implies that the 3F Lift Hall had originally (and perhaps even still) been occupied by a secretary's desk, which is precisely the interpretation that biohazard_star had finally convinced IGAS of.

Interesting. One thing I'd be critical of though is whether they thought that far ahead at this stage of development. The alpha office is one of the oldest known examples of 1.5 material and judging by the layout of the alpha lobby, the lift shaft might very well not have been part of the RPD at this point, at least not in it's current location (unless the surrounding corridors were laid out differently).

We don't know that for sure, I don't remember seeing a couch in the original version of the room for him to be injured on.
The script was probably changed multiple times. How do we know he isn't still evil Miles Mayhem was
