  • "... if this is that turd colvin's build ..."

Now, now, be nice. You don't have to sink to that level, despite what happened. I know what he did was wrong, but you're better than that. Please don't let this thread go like the other one.

The Service Bay starts differently in each game. Elza's is first, and the door is sealed shut. You apparently need something to open it. Perhaps the Pliers (it should be Wrench) lying on the floor and the unuseable Nut are involved here to fix the door, ala RE3? Your guess is as good as mine. In Leon's game, which appears to happen later, the door is open. Perhaps the lighting difference in Elza's version was added by the time the 80% build was made, from where that still comes - but that's speculation on my part. All that would be needed to make these extra (conjectured) "dark" backgrounds would be to darken the existing ones.

Do you know where I can find the final build of Resident Evil 1.5?

    • Why do people assume that at the start of Leon's game at the Helipad he is saying "That's just freakin' great!" because he sees the police van crash on fire? Wouldn't it make more sense that he was up on the Helipad of all places trying to catch a helicopter ride, and they left without him? He stares off at them flying away in the distance, and then says "Well, that's just freakin' great! Now what am I gonna do?" Sounds like it to me. A similar event happened in retail.

      • That's what most of us have always guessed until now, based on what was known up until this year. Considering what's in the Magic Door build, though, you raise a good point. Now that we know he's standing above the Lobby roof, how about this - he just saw Elza crash her bike through the front doors?

        "It's a possibility ..."

It could be that, maybe the opening FMV for Elza was her crashing into the lobby, as the shutters closed, but her riding past and crashing attracted all the zombies in that area to the shutters, which leads to them breaking in later when Leon arrives in the Lobby later. Although the idea of the helicopter sounds just as good, and would easily explain why he's up on the heliport anyway.

          • either one of those, or The ladder down to the ground is why I think he was up there. But oops, two heavy crates are blocking it!

That's actually a really good point. He can see the chaos on the streets below and watches her lose control, essentially bringing more danger to the police department. I'm still intrigued by the chopper though. "Now what am I gonna do?" The precinct is still filled with dead police officers so I don't think Leon would be too concerned with having to face "new" zombies downstairs. I really would love to see the FMV's some day. Just the icing on the cake really, helping us concrete all these theories over the years.

I have a keen interest in the N64 version of Zero, but aside from a new(ish) video released there really isn't anything. It's very lock and key since someone who did have access to it or at least material was warned and it was all taken down and since then, well. Nothing really.

                • Zero N64 will never see the day of light, people were about to get in big big trouble when information was about to be leaked. No one wants to get sued for releasing a game.

Anyways, back on topic, i'd say Leon seeing Elza crash is a fair assumption.

Maybe he ripped the backgrounds as well ?

EDIT: i see you said "unintended footage" was there a video he released ?

                    • To me, that there is even a Helipad at all in the game would make no sense unless a Helicopter was involved in the RE 1.5 story, flying away from there, and bingo, there's Leon starting *right there* of all places, with "Well, that's just freakin' great! Now what am I gonna do?" As his opening lines. I seriously cannot think of any other logical workable context above that one. Elza crashing? Maybe. But still doesn't explain why he's on a Helipad on the roof. Burning van? Nah. Why the fuck is the Helipad even there, and Leon starts there, unless a Helicopter leaving there had a part in it? Again, just my observation.

Maybe Leon seeing Elza crash through the front entrance gate would mean he's worried that the zombies from the outside would enter the RPD?

Very true, it could be both, who knows? Maybe the FMV shows Leon not only missing the helicopter, but then he looks down onto the chaos below to see Elza crash into the station, attracting all of the zombies in the area?

                          • He may have been told that he could escape via the Helipad ladder, but much to his chagrin, he found two stacked crates blocking the way. The Elza and Helicopter theories are good too.

It's interesting that when he exits the helipad he says: "That's right! I must report this to the chief".

                            • Another likely reason for leon to say, "Hey, that's just freaking great --- now WTF am I gonna do" is that there is a helicopter to pick up survivors, but you know mutant crows which feed on flesh, and they're after the survivors. So the helicopter would fly away to avoid attacks from crows, and when Leon was there, the helicopter is away. Or by the same time he saw Elza crashed into RPD and introduce even more zombies to completely fuck things up, at which time his desperation reaches his limit.
