      Uhm, I have access to this build of pSX. And it isn't the WIP Build. But to put an end to this bitching around, I got it over half a year ago and I found it ON THE INTERNET. Dam, dam, daaaaam!! Actually, it is publicly available and I'm not related in any form with Colvin.
      Choosing the main cast is absolutely awesome!

        • What's the point anyway, isn't it dead? The only news about it are from 2008. It's 4 years old. If the guy hasn't released anything in the past 4 years I don't see the point of all this bitching.

          • It's more like a matter of trust. 1.5 still brings all sorts of shitstorms, even involving private builds of emulators, which the author never wanted. That's basically the whole point of my rant.

            • If he doesn't plan any release and the project is dead, I don't see where the problem is, private emulator or not. It kinda lost its reason to stay private, even though I understand the bad aspect behind someone leaking it.

                I still don't understand the big thing about this "WIP" build... Can you elaborate on what makes it so special ? The only feature is a "no-lag recording" feature and PS2 emulation ?

                • It also contains several fixes to the core, mainly about synchrony. The other big feature is the virtual CD-rom working from a folder, instead of just ISO and CD drive path. This feature was specifically implemented at my request when I started creating my own Castlevania engine on the PlayStation, but later it was used for other projects such as the FFIV revision hack.

                      Sure, here's an earlier post with the 800B0FE2 00XX room modifier. Another one here. Character codes here. The PEC post is here.

                      • Sorry, but I don't see the big deal about this whole emulation business. I mean, he's not doing any harm, is he? In fact, he's actually helping US out by sharing videos about his discoveries in 1.5. Also, it's very hypocritical to be complaining about something being leaked without permission when this entire discussion is about a video game that was not supposed to see the light of day. Just my two cents.

                          Thanks again! I guess I better ditch PSX and download ePSXe...

                          I wonder how difficult it would be to re-enable ledge-dropping... it seems to be a room-specific rather than character-specific action.

                            Is not only about the emulator, but the fact that Colvin stated that the TEAM build was provided with a special emulator to work, and it looks like he had easily access to data inside the disc, despite being encrypted, so the only way he could have done that is to have Colvin lend him the build, along with the emulator (see no lag in videos).

                                I can record full screen games on the pcsx2 with DX10 and all upgraded options on. You could've simply suggested I try out Dxtory. Sheesh!
