Odd, apparently it said I wasn't logged in. Could've sworn I recently logged back in..

Anyways... Despite how old this topic is, I'm very curious to see if whether or not the N64 version of the game could ever surface. Always been interested in beta material for any game, and some of the stuff that has happened with the Resident Evil series, I can't help but find fascinating. It's interesting to see how the change has also morphed from what was in the N64 build and the final build.

I recall sometime ago, in the demo build of Resident Evil 0 (well, BioHazard 0, to be more specific), the game actually had more than the train segment on the demo, but only part of it was accessible. Further more, the rooms varied in stages of production, some I believe were not even possible to play with only the background data existing. Though, I am curious to what amount of the later part of the game in the demo if there were backgrounds from the N64 build used as place holders. For that matter, is there any place that documented the left overs from the demo build? Most I've seen are people who have posted videos on youtube.

Anyways, I'd be curious to see or hear more about the N64 version, if we ever get anymore information on it.

Survivhor has a good info about the matter if somebody didn´t watch it yet: http://survivhor.biohazardfrance.net/RE_ZERO.5/ (A bit of French understanding might be needed).

Interesting that Rebecca was initially going to have eight inventory slots, I didn´t noticed that before.

I'm interested in this beta for the same reasons I'm interested in most others, to enjoy the wide variety of artwork the game has to offer. It's always a treat seeing prototype material at all stages of development, complete, playable or not. The N64 version might not be all that different from the GC version, but surely it contains some of the most unique artwork from any Biohazard build out there, seeing as the hardware switch meant limitation changes for the artists also. Who knows what might be tucked away on that cartridge? Deffinately one of the most exciting for me. As for being next? I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Don't hold your breath for this one.

The Bio1 and Bio1.5 beta(s) were feasible, only because they weren't licensed on a Nintendo console.

It is my understanding that someone does own a copy of this, though legal issues arose when a fundraiser was mentioned and any mention of it was simply deleted. Someone feel free to correct me, but I believe that it was Nintendo, not CAPCOM, who stepped in with a C&D order.

              Minor details were mentioned, however:

1 - It is on a N64 dev cart and requires N64 dev hardware to run.

2 - Many assets seemed to be missing, but what really got me wet is the fact that uncompiled source code is located on the cart.

3 - My memory's kind of fuzzy on this one, but there could be a major problem when trying to dump it - all contents are at risk of being deleted from the cartridge. There simply isn't any ROM dumper that can handle it.

That said, it's probably hasn't been dumped. Nintendo C&D isn't a joking matter, however, so don't expect anyone to face monetary fines and/or imprisonment to please a small fan-base.

Thank you for your info and knowledge of the subject. As for the dumping, if somebody really wanted it dumped and had it, couldn't they just release it anonymously? I could understand if they were making a spectacle on it. Plus, given the age of the game, would Nintendo still care for a game NOT made by them of an unreleased state for a system they seem to care little about nowadays?

I mean, just think of all those TVs playing RE0 for the N64, all the chances for someone to get a hold of it. Oh well, just a pipe dream.

Over the years many, many games have been dumped. Some that we didn't even know existed. I fully appreciate how difficult it can be to dump certain items but if someone has the access and funds to a copy of this, a N64 Dev unit isnt exactly going to be out of reach for them. Im not saying were ever going to get to see this but, all it would take would be a trip over to Assembler and someone would know how to get this out.

The reason the beta dump was halted is because its release was still too close to the GC release and they feared it would hurt sales.

To be honest i'd love to play it just to hear the voice acting. I think it's a different cast.

That's exactly what I remember, capcom stepped in because the GC version either hadn't been released yet or was just released. No reason not to dump the rom now seeing as how capcom didn't care about 1.5

It truly is amazing what some fans have done over the years to showcase to us some of the various betas and unfinished games. I can see why some are so tight with some of these rare items. Though to horde it to themselves is a bit selfish, but I guess if you pay big money and avoid legal issues, probably a big reason why they don't dump some games.

Nothing new, it was posted on assembler forums months ago. It was from someone playing the game on the E3 floor.
