Has anyone tried looking to see the dates each background was last modified like Ys1 did in his comparative analysis? That's one way you'll probably be able to find out exactly which backgrounds are real and which backgrounds are custom. I'd be curious to know just so I can see when each Capcom reader was done, would be interesting to piece together it's development history.

First of all, with the exception of the B1 map, every map from the RPD is in agreement with the final build's layout and not contradicted by any media. The Team did not touch a single map by the time that they minted the WIP build; the persistence of the Era-3 B1 map, the scrambled 2F map, and the lack of character-location markers in certain areas all present irrefutable indications of this fact. What does this mean? Every single room in the RPD with the exception of the Kennel on B1 are based on accurate room dimensions, metric measurements, positioning, and door placement. The only exceptions that I can think of are two of the doors on 2F that were changed from single doors into double doors (but their placements remained the same). The Kennel is the only room whose dimensions cannot be discerned with perfect accuracy due to the lack of a proper Era-4 or Era-5 B1 map, but thanks to the relevant Inflames-exclusive images, the room can be designed with reasonable faithfulness. As for the B1 Corridor itself, a partially textured but dimensionally accurate version of the Era-5 design is contained on the PSM disc (as we've seen in Advents 2 and 3).
Here is a list of the rooms in the RPD and their origins:
>> Police Station
--- (1F) ---
100 - P.O.C. Basement Corridor (Capcom) / Battle Colosseum (IGAS?) (originally the northern portion of the Mirror Room, which was merged by the Team to free this slot for other uses)
101 - Mirror Room (IGAS) (originally the southern portion of the Mirror room; it is now a merged room with its warp portal on the southern door; both portions are IGAS creations) (no original media exists beyond two untextured images)
102 - Office B (Capcom)
103 - Lobby (Capcom)
104 - Lobby Corridor (Capcom)
105 - East Corridor (IGAS) (no original media exists)
106 - Staircase 1 (IGAS) (no original media exists)
107 - Office A (Capcom)
108 - Elevator (IGAS)
109 - Outdoor B (Capcom)
10A - Staircase 2 (IGAS)
10B - Outdoor A (Capcom)
--- (2F) ---
10C - 2F Lift Hall (IGAS)
10D - 2F Corridor (IGAS)
10E - Medical Room (IGAS) (no original media exists)
10F - Radio Room (IGAS) (no original media exists)
110 - Archive Corridor (Capcom)
111 - Media Room (IGAS) (no original media exists)
--- (3F) ---
112 - 3F Lift Hall (IGAS)
113 - 3F Corridor (IGAS) (no original media exists)
114 - Conference Room (IGAS)
115 - Irons' Office (Capcom)
116 - Heliport Stairs (Capcom)
117 - Heliport (Capcom)
--- (B1) ---
118 - B1 Corridor (IGAS) (a partially textured Era-5 version of this room exists on the PSM disc) (although the Team has assigned this room number only to the unlit version of the room, both the lit and unlit versions were most likely contained within the same RDT file in the final build; only a unified base model exists on the PSM disc from which either version can be struck) (the Team has assigned the lit version of this room to ROOM127)
119 - Firing Range (Capcom)
11A - Armory (Capcom)
11B - Garage B (Capcom) (an unlit version of this room might have been present in the final build, but this has yet to be conclusively determined and is based on a single Inflames-exclusive image)
11C - Garage A (Capcom)
11D - Kennel (IGAS) (the proper dimensions do not exist on the Era-3 B1 map; the design is based entirely on the Inflames-exclusive images)
--- (B2) ---
11E - B2 Corridor (Capcom)
11F - Boiler Room (IGAS) (a partially textured Era-4 version of this hall exists on the PSM disc; Era-5 ornamentation originates from two Inflames-exclusive images and possibly the retail decor as well)
120 - Morgue (Capcom)
121 - Prisons (Capcom)
122 - Prison 1 (Capcom)
123 - Prison 2 (Capcom)
124 - Prison 3 (Capcom)
125 - Prison 4 (Capcom)
126 - Prison 5 (Capcom)
As far as the other three chapters are concerned, I don't think that the Team has created any rooms for those areas yet.Last edited by Enigmatism415; 03-03-2013, 05:07 AM.

Yes, they all seem to say feb 20, 2013, only the date they were extracted. It looks like they are all PNG files, so they are obviously not the original images, just screen shots or exported from a software. I do not know which software to use to extract the files from. I search the RE 123 forum and don't see how they did it. If someone finds out, then let us know.I have received 135,000 infractions at The Horror Is Alive!

Even though the email reads Bob Zork it's the team's e-mail, I sent them some stuff regarding translation and they were as polite as they could be, just don't ask them questions answered elsewhere and it's fine.Hail the heros of the revolution!

By making a thread here, you're just speculating, if you e-mail Zork you might get the answers you want, this is completely counter productive in retrospect. Just be polite with how you ask and there shouldn't be a problem.Last edited by Wrathborne; 03-02-2013, 09:04 PM.

Doesn't make any sense to what you are saying. Everyone here speculates about the RE games. I just want to know what program to use to rip the background images off the disc to see the dates. Then there will be no reason to bother mr Bzork. I will see what is from 1997, and what is from 2012 or 2013.
And why don't you send him and email for me?Last edited by Black~Crow; 03-02-2013, 09:17 PM.I have received 135,000 infractions at The Horror Is Alive!

I have no interest in e-mailing Mr.Bzork over the 1.5 release, no do I have any interest in speculating on why the team has done what they've done.
If you want answers stop procrastinating and speculating on the forum and just ask the man already. Hes the only one who cant tell you why and how certain things were done.
I'm not going to help you get answers to your own questions, stop trying to get someone else to satisfy your curiosity and go satisfy it yourself -_-

I like how you ask for a way to contact the team and when one is given to you, you choose not to.Last edited by biohazard_star; 03-03-2013, 12:18 AM.Seibu teh geimu?
