Yeah, because I mean, if you followed the current / original / ongoing story and that for years without a break, wouldn't you rather Capcom finished that off first before going back to the beginning again, leaving the series with a cliffhanger of sorts? Granted, a reboot could just mean a new overall, but I reckon they intended to start afresh. There's still life in the old dog yet. Not sure if that best describes things. But anyway, there needs to be a proper send off.
