    Amen to this.
    Mass production? Ridiculous!

the forced AI co-op in 5 alone makes me never replay the game and hate it.

It's at the root of the game's problems, since from it stemmed a bunch of other game-detracting elements (linearity, over-simplification of maps and inventories, etc.)

There was some cool levels and bosses and I liked the storyline alot but the forced co-op alone manages to kill it 100%

I have to agree to this. Was RE5 what I (or a lot of other people) wanted? Not really, but it was still a very good game.

It was playable - so long as you have a co-op partner or know the esoteric codes and mantras that make the damned AI partner function. And Chris felt more human than Leon in RE4, boulder punching in a volcano aside. Sheva is also a good character, and one they need to return to.

But mostly, since it was hordes of Majini, it was pretty crap. Wesker might as well have burst into song about how fucking stupid his plan was (seriously, it has holes you can pilot Saddler's battleship through) and Irving was...Irving. Not to mention crotch-less Jill and Excella wandering around like she's dressed for a random party. It was another wasted opportunity meant to cash in on the name and the co-op craze. Nothing more, really.

I have a hard time understanding how people had so much trouble with the AI. I went through that game on the higher difficulty levels and the AI operated flawlessly. Did you utilize the trust system? Because if you don't hit the compliment button every time they pull a head shot or save them from enemies from time to time, the AI will remain at sucky level.

Also, the hoards of Majini would have made sense had they gone through with their original plan which involved 30~50 majini attacking you at once versus the 5~8 we get throughout the game. I also don't see what is so ridiculous about Wesker's plan versus, I don't know, any OTHER plan that the bad guys have cooked up starting from RE1 on. XD Were they cashing in on the co-op craze? Yeah. But it least the game wasn't TOTAL shit.

I don't even know what the trust system is. In fairness, my memory is shot, but I don't remember it being mentioned anywhere in game. Of course, I haven't played RE5 in several years...and only on co-op since the Demo, which made me hate the AI.

xD It is mentioned, and it's one of the arrow keys (on PC obviously, not sure of the console placement) next to the ATTACK and COVER command keys. The AI is set up so when you first start, the partner AI is operating half capacity and the more you build the trust level by hitting that key when Sheva gives you stuff out of her inventory, when she lands a head shot or when she saves you from enemy chokeholds, the better the AI performs.

If you don't build that trust level, the AI will be an idiot the entire game through, using and poorly mixing herbs for itself, taking forever to save you from dying, etc. You should try to play the game through again using the trust system, and it may change your opinion.

Hey, not my fault that reading the manual is a lost art these days. xD But you can't really accurately judge a product you didn't use properly from the start. That's like criticizing a microwave for not cooking your food when you never learned how to open the door.

Looking through the UK 360 Manual...it doesn't mention the trust system. At all. It mentions you can compliment a partner, but not that it will do anything, and, this is odd I admit, but I never got into the habit of complimenting the AI for occasionally doing the correct action. So it's more like not knowing my microwave could also pick up radio, because no one mentioned it could and I just kinda assumed if there was something important, like the AI start at barely functioning toddler level and needs to be constantly complimented to not run around in circles, the game might mention that.

But silly me it's Capcom. Why mention such a thing when you can let players find out for themselves...several years later.

It wasn't in your manual? O_o In my manual it doesn't call it the "trust" system, that was just what I called it, but it does have a whole page dedicated to voice actions.
