I don`t understand what is the big problem with co-op in RE5, it`s a great feature if you play with a real partner and if you play with an AI partner also works well.

You just equip the AI partner with the correct weapons and you can go trough Normal or even Veteran with good covering and without major problems, and when you play on Pro, enemies go for you and ignore your partner most of times, so there is no AI problem, except in some phases like the battle "Two on two", but anyway, Pro is not supossed to be made easy to complete with an AI partner, furthermore, it is still possible.

IMO having a co-op RE for the first time was amazing, however I don`t want if they made every RE in forced co-op, I think Capcom need to find a way to alternate both solo and co-op experiences.

There was even a trophy/achievement for getting trust up good enough.

RE5 was a well-made game, no doubt about it. But to me, the only thing RE5 did better than RE4 was graphics (obviously) and a story that made more sense in the RE universe. That's about it. Some of the enemy designs were nice (Popokarimu, U8, Duvalia), but overall the game just seemed terribly bland when compared to RE4 and those before it. Capcom set the standard so high with RE4 (sans the story) that they really couldn't go any higher.

RE5 had brightly-lit linear environments, which detracts from a supposed horror game. On top of that, they cashed in on the co-op fad, which in turn simplified the game to mind-numbing levels (live inventory, no analyzing items, checkpoints, linearity, no backtracking, etc.) RE4 and the previous games had a level of detail that was simply not present in RE5.

That said, RE5 is still a fun game under the right conditions. Co-op is a blast, but they should have had an option for true single-player without an AI partner. That's honestly my biggest complaint -- how much better would the game have been if it was Chris solo with RE4's inventory, less linearity, and more horror?

Also, don't get me started on brainwashed ninja suit sexy cat Jill...
        Mass production? Ridiculous!

I don't think Capcom will ever top Re4 in terms of 3rd person shooter stuff. Plus you also have to remember Shinji Mikami was heavilly involved with the making of RE4 not to mention was the director.

Well, different prefferences I guess. Both RE4 and RE5 (and probably RE6 too) can hardly qualify as survival horror games, night or daylight doesn`t make big difference, and they have both the same linearity and action shooter oriented style, but I found RE4 more monotonous, probably because it`s longer but has less variety of situations and interesting moments.

I found much better the inventory system from RE5 or any practical real time inventory, because it adds more tension and realism to the adventure, but mainly because I prefer its limited space. RE4 inventory is just ridiculous for me and one of its biggest failures, because when you have the XXL case, you can go all the way like Rambo with one Handgun, Shotgun, Machinegun, Rifle, Magnum, Mine Thrower, Rocket launcher, and ammo for each weapon, wich ruins any chance of feeling like you are in a survival horror game and also ruins the chance of a more strategic gameplay since you don`t need to decide wich weapons to take and wich not for different chapters or situations.

Even more ridiculous, if you want to get a new weapon and you happen to run out of space, you have to sell one of your weapons (probably upgraded at the top) to the merchant, and losing that weapon forever.
IMO, it would have been much better if RE4 had a limited inventory and the classic item chest for storage the rest of your weapons instead of having the merchant system, wich was one of the most stupid ideas in the main saga ever.

But anyway, different strokes for different folks.

I loved the Merchant system the whole upgrades from him gave the game a sense of progression and added so much replay value.

Survivor was a game created for Arcade. It doesn't have a saving system because you can easily beat it in less than 1 hour.

                    That´s right.
Survivor 1 may probably take you more in the first run, but after that, you will complete it in less than an hour.
And keep your expectations as low as you can on Survivor 2.

i was playing for roughly for an hour, i got to a part after finding that kid swinging the bat in the monitor room, Mr.X bursts through a wall and i was out of shotgun ammo.
i also played it on that "Resident Evil" controller with the gun grip because i heard Light guns dont work on HDTV's....is that true? if it isnt ill get hold of one for it and survivor 2....hopefully that game is smoother gameplay?

Just avoid his hits and defeat him using the handgun, you have unlimited ammo for this, and you can shoot from a safer distance.
I don`t know about light guns, never used it. Regarding Survivor 2, its controller is very different from any RE, to give you an idea, to rotate the character you use L and R buttons instead of the main stick like in every normal game.

When I got that achievement I was just like "lolwat"

For me, my top five Resident Evil games would have to be:

                              5. Resident Evil 0
                              4. Resident Evil 4
                              3. Resident Evil Remake
                              2. Resident Evil 3
                              1. Resident Evil 2

Drake's Fortune came out 18 months before RE5. The HUGE gap between RE4 and RE5 meant that RE5 felt like an antique on release. Mechanically there were a lot better games in the genre that eclipsed 5 before it even came out.
                                I don't enjoy playing RE5. I haven't in years.

                                As for the best games
                                RE2
                                RE3
                                REmake
                                RE4
                                RE5
                                RECV
                                RE0
                                RE6

I won't bother with spin offs or side stories. But that's my take on the main ones
