Alright, did more testing and here's what truly happens:
If you kill too many small bees (The characters grab them and throws them onto the ground),
a slightly bigger bee will appear. If the "Queen Bee" stings you, you're dead.

Interesting, all these years and I never encountered the queen bee. Thanks for investigating.

It's not actually just one, once all the small bees are dead, only the bigger ones will start showing up.

I might pop it in later and find out, though I remember all the bees in general in the remake being considerably larger then the older versions.

I never even knew about those giant bee's either. Are they more resilient or stronger?

They seem to be faster, but not stronger, a knife hit will kill them immediately.

I can't believe a game I've been playing since the sixth grade I never knew about this queen bee. I swear in RE games you always discover something new like I found new examine locations in REmake. I also didn't know you could kill the alligator in 2 with just firepower. I also discovered some new scenes in RE3 last week.

                        This game keeps on giving.

Indeed. But perhaps we should call these bee's by their actual species, Hornets. They are like a giant Yellow Jacket, which are very mean. If they ever bring Hornets back, they need to be giant Bald Faced Hornets.

I can confirm what alinhoalisson said, I just tried it tonight (with Chris on Advanced Mode in REDC). You have to kill LOTS of bees though, so it can take a while. That's why it's kind of a secret : no one ever tries to kill bees for like fifteen minutes "just to see what happens".

I've known about the queen bee for years. I remember reading about it in a guide on gameFAQs. Really cool how they programmed it and 99% of people have no idea it's there.
