When I seen the thread I thought yeah it is possible because it's so fucking bad that I move beyond laughing and just face-palm in utter disbelief and disappointment..

I clicked the link to listen after a long time. The moment that first note started I grinned and began laughing to myself..

        I failed...

Heh. Just had to hear the RE 1 V/A cop outs after listening to this song:

Been a while since I played that cheesy B-flick game.

To swap the music out, first download the rebuilding app from the 123 boards.

                  1. Download REbuilder from the 125 boards and extract the RE1mod folder to the root of your C: drive.
                  2. Download CDtools and extract buildcd.exe and LICENSEA.DAT to the RE1mod folder.
                  3. Make an ISO of the Dual Shock version, as well as the original version of RE1, Director's Cut.
                  4. Use CDMage to extract all the files to the RE1mod folder (from REbuilder) in the root of your C: drive. Make sure the content are extracted correctly as the RE1mod folder already has a PSXUSA folder. That mean make sure your ZNULL.DAT, SYSTEM.CNF, and SLUS_7.47 are in the root of the RE1mod folder.
                  5. Now open up either the regular Director's Cut or original games ISO and extract the SOUND folder located in the PSX folder to RE1mod folder.
                  6. Open up the PSXUSA folder in RE1mod and drag the extracted SOUND folder over to it and overwrite all the files in there.
                  7. OPTIONAL: You can also take all the original FMV's from Directors Cut and replace all the Dual Shock ones. Now all FMV's have the original score.
                  8. Run "xa(Run Once).bat, it will correct all the .xa and .str audio streams.
                  9. Now run 1.buildcd.bat and let it compile a RE1MOD.IMG file.
                  10. After that completes, run 2.STRIISO_2352.bat. It will trim the image and convert it to a Mode2/2352 binary image.
                  11. Now run 3.info.bat. This will create newslus.bin.
                  12. Open CDmage and load the newly created RE1MOD.BIN image. Right click on SLUS_7.47 and choose "import file". Now navigate to the RE1mod folder and click select newslus.bin and confirm the selection.

Now burn away and enjoy the original soundtrack in Dual Shock!

Now read the instructions in the readme.txt file to recompile the game.

If you guys need more help, don't hesitate to ask. You can even replace the first games soundtrack with that of the dual shock version I believe.
