Resident Evil 2 Unreleased Tech Demo on Real Hardware

I feel old for saying this, but the M3 Movie Player is a PRETTY COMMON GBA flash cart. They were pretty famous for their time, 'cause rather than being limited to mimicing the ROM size of an actual cart (and reliance on pre-compiling multi-ROM solutions into a single ROM), they had onboard memory and allowed ROMs to be loaded off of external media (That there is a the Compact Flash version of the M3 Movie Player). With a pass-through device, those things could be used as a Slot-2 ROM loader for NDS stuff on the NDS too. If you're wondering about the name, that's how people started circumventing legal trouble. Promoting one feature, but mainly selling 'cause of a "side-effect" (Movies being pre-converted into a package of player + movie and thus playable on the system as a regular ROM ... and thus also supporting homebrew and pirated stuff). We used to use those for internal testing of GBA projects of our own at my old employer, since it was cheaper and faster than having to send the official flash carts back and forth to the mastering lab.

And whatever at someone leaking it. Like I said, I got it from a private source who was looking to do a fundraiser for it. Im in for no money, so Im not exactly sure why someone is so butthurt. Im not a member of some conspiracy looking to make money, look I just lost 1500$ on 4 RARE prototypes, shit happens and I deal with it. I think Im about as transparent as anyone who gets prototypes. I do things for one purpose, the preservation of game prototypes. Heck, feel free to come hear me talk at my University if that is something that interests you.

Given how these people always post on the same board and support jackasses, it wouldn't surprise me if it's just one of them being butthurt again at the last video or the situation in general. You can really see a pattern in all that crap, which makes this all extremely hilarious and entertaining, especially when posters trying to make sense get warnings and drama queens don't.

I think people forget how little I care about Resident Evil. Most of my posts occurred when RE4 came out for the PS2, when I was helping Dot50Cal try to get a demo disk for the game, and the year following that. It wasn't because I have some strong love for Resident Evil that I am here.

I just know Im from the age where you need evidence to go with your pet theories. Here is the set of messages from Wednesday on AG, when the source was able to confirm the game with me. I will say that this is the last time I try to do something nice and facilitate a beta release for Resident Evil fans without all the smoke and mirrors that has been going on since those RE1 alphas leaked. I put myself out there for you guys. Not that I care really, since if the game was in multiple hands I would rather not facilitate community dumps for the content, but hey, can't fault me for trying to bring fun content out to people.

Its always possible that my sources were wrong, which is always annoying but it does happen. I talked to people that I know in the beta scene, and they hadn't heard of the ROM being in public/private hands, or there is the possibility that the source of the ROM twisted facts and lied, or simply didn't know that there was another source of the game out there, in which case what can you do? I'd actually love if Mr. Anon told me how he got the file, just to see where along the supply chain I went wrong, of course that'll never happen. I did what I could to bring good things, like I always do Onto the next title!

Fully understandable with all the senseless drama shit that always seems to go along with *ANY* Prototypes of Resident Evil games. Pretty much every other video game series' fans always seem very cool and entirely supportive and thankful and sane whenever someone obtains and dumps a Prototype for them. But whenever a Resident Evil Prototype is found, out come the "anons" and crazed purist cultists and butthurt imbeciles.

Nah, the purist stuff is more than likely just made up to cover the glorious butthurt about lightspots and general popularity. Err no, considering I'm not a member of the team, and have zero technical skills. Im an open book, you can go to my website, see 80-90% of what I have. I obtain stuff on my own, with my own money the majority of the time. Resident Evil brings with it as much headache as the "Xbox 360 Scene," which probably isn't a coincidence.
