This news saddens me deeply but at the same time it's their own fault. If only they had listened this might have been prevented. Perhaps some other company could buy the rights to the RE franchise and do it some justice!

Odly if they sell all their assets, perhaps the final build of 1.5 might show-up. If they get liquidated you never know. That's honestly the only good thing I can see of this.

Sadly most of the fat is at the top of the company. Piss poor decisions and approvals on games as well as unrealistic sales expectations undermine everyone who works for the company. No matter how talented, or popular they are with the game community.

Because stagnation is a big issue with them right now, their unwillingness to do anything new.

Hey, I hated the new DMC, and I've never supported the direction it took.
DmC was new. Was a great game too.

capcom is just a brand today, just like rare. Mikami, Kamiya, Inafune, etc are elsewhere. I like it that way, i love indipedent developers and with kickstarter they can at least get some funds for small projects.

Street Fighter IV was very good, but not fantastic like third strike. The same can be said about dmc4, it was not as good as dmc3. Dragon dogma and dead rising were some of the biggest messes that i ever seen, even if they had some great ideas. I had much more fun with megaman 9, and those megaman on psp were good too. Dark void for ds shop was a little gem, it's a pity that it was so short. Bionic commandos (2d & 3d, which is a very underrated game, you need to play it at commando difficulty) were great, but those were developed by grin.

Resident Evil 5 mercenary and versus modes were very very fun, but the campaign played like an arcade version of resident evil 4. Which i think is still good, especially with a friend. Resident evil 6 was another big mess, but i really liked the fighting system. The rest of the game was shit for me though.

but the biggest disappointment for me was that capcom didn't release a new breath of fire. Breath of fire V is one of my favorite games, it's a really hard and very replayable survival rpg.

i still have to play monster hunter, but it's too much time consuming for me.

                all imho of course.

well dmc when it was released it had the deepest fighting system ever seen in an action game. It was grounbreaking for the time.

LOL, no. The new DmC was just a misguided effort to reboot an already established series of 12+ years that didn't need rebooting to begin with. They tried to rehash an old formula, and didn't do a very good job with it. When I say "new", I mean Capcom should try creating completely new franchises that bear no relation whatsoever to the old ones. The old ones have been sucked dry down to the slimy stick. They can't sustain themselves with sequels/reboots anymore.

Capcom should probably also replace their leadership, the current ones don't seem very competent.

They are making the wrong choices again! CAPCOM, I want a new BOF game but not on a cell phone. People clamor for a new game and you guys announce it, but it's mobile? This reminds me of The 3rd Birthday. It's a sequel to Parasite Eve 2, but on a portable. Man..

When DMC4 released it was called stale and boring even by dedicated DMC fans. The story was criticised even by DMC standards too (though always been poor). A lot of people thought it needed a big shake up of some kind.

                              Well it got one.
