The exact same game but with updated graphics would be nice, (and RE3 added as Jill's scenario) but pointless. And today's RE elements in RE2 would be horrible and also pointless. It would need new things added that would seemlessly fit into the game to make the experience fresh and I don't have faith in Capcom to do it properly.
I wanted a remake of RE2 but there's too many ways it could go wrong.sigpic

No remakes of anything, I say. What Capcom should do now is to allow new, creative teams the freedom to come up with completely new IPs. Yes, it's a gamble, but they're going down anyway, if they insist on clinging on to their old, and mostly used-up properties. Because stagnation is a big issue with them right now, their unwillingness to do anything new.

They are just like Square Enix and Konami, they lost most of their talent and are doomed to fail if they don't restructure.

If Capcom hadn't been so fucking careless with their assets, they could have simply re-rendered everything from RE2 and RE3, reprogrammed any little bits wherever necessary, and sold them together as a joint HD package for a reasonable price. I wouldn't mind playing the same games if they looked better than ever; I'd pay for them a 6th time.

I think this is fantastic news. After the way they have treated their fanbase for the past few years they deserve everything thats coming to them. Its time to sink or swim Capcom and actually pull your finger out of your ass and do some work you lazy bastards. This is what you get for cutting corners, being lazy, being greedy, being unfaithful and giving us RE6.
Fire everyone and rehire the old team or put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.

CAPCOM never cared about whoever they hired, not even the producer of Resident Evil.

If they have to go back and Remake a previous game I think they are in deep shit. You cant rely on the past forever. Its time to rebuild the franchise and start fresh. Ditch Jake and bring back Alex. Its simple I could think of a better plot of the top of my head right now than that garbage that was RE6.
B.S.A.A. recieve word of a dead body found with traces of a virus in a town. They send in Chris and Jill and a team to investigate. Alex Wesker has been testing his new virus on subjects and one managed to escape hence the dead body found. Alex recieves word from a mole in the B.S.A.A. (Introduce the mole and he is a part of Chris and Jills team) that Chris and Jill have come to investigate.
Alex releases the virus on the city/town/any location is fine. Chris and Jill arrive as the outbreak is occuring. Chris and Jill manage to locate the whereabouts of Alex and have to fight their way through his facility filled with zombies and B.O.W.'s. You can add in all sorts of twists. Alex has revived Spencer through his immortality virus, Alex has captured Jake to test the virus on him because of his bloodline which turns Jake into some B.O.W. You could bring back Nicholai, Hunk, Downing, Raymond or Jessica. Whatever just give us something that relates to US FANS and to the previous installments we have been through. Stop kissing ass to the new fans and pay some homage to the fans that have put you on the map and kept your company alive this long.
If I have to play another pointless game that starts with a new story introduces new characters, new virus, new vilian and then wraps it all up in one game and we are back to where we were before playing it then I am out of the franchise. Bye bye Capcom RIP Resident Evil.
EDIT: In the time it took me to have a shower I thought of a way they could easily bring back Spencer and make it all fit together. Spencer and Alex finished the immortality virus and with Spencer being injected with it and showing signs of making a recovery they decide they are going to expand of the research of the virus and form a 'New Umbrella'.
They realise that Albert Wesker is becoming a threat to them and decide to take him out. They decide Spencer will invite Albert to his home and fake his death knowing of Alberts plans with the Uroboros virus. If I am correct just prior to RE5 the B.S.A.A. recieve an 'anoynomus' tip about the Uroborus virus. Which could have been by Spencer and Alex literally sending them after Albert and hoping that they would take him out which they did. Now with Albert out of the equation Alex and Spencer are free to start their new company.
I dont know about you but I would much rather play that game than RE6. That was off the top of my head. I think 90% of the RE fanbase can come up with a better plot than RE6. Some people on this site and Project Umbrella could make a masterpiece. So for a company to literally pull the shit that was RE6 out of their assholes it is truly worrying for the future of this series. The time is now for Capcom to put up a fight or roll over and die.Last edited by TheNightBegins; 10-03-2013, 06:53 PM.
