I´d like a desert setting, at night time and with creatures suddenly emerging from the sand and attacking the player .

There could be also some stages like a chemical plant, underground caves, mines, a lab, or whatever that could be placed in the middle of the desert. But definatelly I prefer an isolated location rather than another urban setting, I allways felt urban environments weakens the horror sense.

Telltale Games' The Walking Dead was by many considered the best game of 2012.

          people took the suggestion seriously?

OMG no! what would be the main plot? Crazy terrorist spreading Las Plagas to conquest petroil domination? Of course he would turn in to a camel, the weak spot would be his red glowing humps.

That's because the walking dead didn't start out as a pre rendered background survival horror with limited ammo and no QTEs

You know with 6 aside from QTE's Leon's story was pretty good as a "modern" RE. If anything tweak that a bit more and kind of use that as a basis atmosphere wise for 7. Well aside from the obvious L4D type zombies they threw into his story

I actually really liked Jake's scenario, although only perhaps because I liked what they did with Sherry's character design. In fact I think all the design choices were great (bar Chris and Piers, nothing new to see there), in particular Leon, Sherry and Helena are some of my favourite designs from the modern era and I thoroughly enjoyed the stylisation and look of RE6. However the game was poorly executed and that was its main flaw, stage design and lack of attention to detail really let down the great artwork and visual aspects of the game.

This is what I hope they improve in RE7; for me the artwork and the vision is there, they just need to focus on the gameplay and make it consistent. It's almost like with RE6 there was barely any QA at all, things like bugs, poor enemy placement, dumb AI, these kinds of issues are picked up by most players even on their first experience, how they didn't pay attention to that or listen to criticisms they must have recieved during testing I do not know. Hopefully Capcom will really test the game thoroughly and refine all the issues to make its execution live up to it's visual standards. Because really the game looked great and had it not felt so half assed I would have even been tempted to say it was one of my favourite games in the series.

I still think it was better than RE5.

I agree with most of this except for Jake's scenario...it just felt like it had nothing to do with Resident Evil. But your points are exactly why I was initially excited for the game; the atmosphere seemed greatly improved upon from RE5. But the game was forgetable due to how little time you spent in each area and was far too eager to move on to big action pieces. Any kind of mood that could have been established in Leon's campaign was lost due to the game being over-simplistic and all too brief.

It had better ideas than 5 but they weren't developed well enough or with the right focus in mind.

Yes it was, good game too, I breezed through the first couple of episodes and it had solid writing just like TV series. The point and click approach worked well for a narrative driven Walking Dead, but I doubt it would be suitable for Resident Evil. Not after the series established itself in a different type of gameplay. But hey if you can combine Walking Dead with Quantic Dream's cinematic QTEs add some gunplay into it and turn it into Resident Evil, then heck more power to you, I'd love to play something like that.

Maybe some people like that setting, personally I saw it as a joke and treated it as such.

You're totally right about isolated location being more suitable for horror, as a matter of fact it's like a stamp of genre, but I don't see desert being a good choice at all. It's dull, flat and empty. RE5 with its savanna setting was one of the crappiest choices in the series, I'd hate to be in a desert after that. Now that's some true horror. The horror of boredom.

Desert doesn't have to be a bad choice of location. Parasite Eve 2 made good use of it's desert setting, Dryfield is actually my favourite location in the whole game.

I swear Claire better be in this and I want her steroid abused brother as far away from this game as possible , It just not a scary game being the typical American muscle man in a horror game with shit loads of guns, they need to simplify things with this game and if claire is the star they could make it more about survival because she's not with bsaa so she wont have access to shit loads of weapons , because the way things are going with the resident evil franchise capcom might as well add Alice to the games ( shivers).
Not that it matters if she has immediate access to them. Remember, this is the woman who encountered a crossbow and a grenade launcher in a police station. Guns are generally strewn about all over the place in the series.

I personally do not want a reboot. They can fix the series without one.
If they would hold off on new stories, they should give us a Resident Evil 2 remake. The fan demand for this is actually unbelievably high. Capcom would be retarded to not take up this opportunity. I just hope its not Nintendo exclusive like Remake was.

Dryfield was actually a pretty scary place when you examined the environment. References to someone looking at you through windows really amped up the tension.
