That is like me with other games on PSX. A tradition is to play the spyro trilogy and resident evil trilogy at least once a year.

While it very well may not happen, I want the story to become more subdued and realistic. For instance, I want them to explain what happened to the Progenitor Virus. Did they wipe it off the face of the earth after Chris and pals returned from Kijuju? It's a virus with extremely heavy and potentially beneficial qualities for the whole of mankind. Such a thing would be irresponsible. I want the story to take a turn toward the U.S. government secretly keeping the Progenitor Virus and performing research to elucidate its "better half." Then we can have the characters actually conflicted about what to do. Leon would have to eat his "ima scrub this virus from the face of the earth" line. Maybe Claire or Jill contract a disease that Progenitor research could conveniently cure. That'd give Chris reason to wonder.

That could give The Family the opportunity to acquire it for themselves (similar to how Carla acquired the t-Virus, G-Virus and t-Veronica) and keep doing whatever their goal is now that they also have the enhanced C-Virus, after recovering it from Simmons' corpse. Have the setting be during a U.S. Congressional hearing about what to do with the virus. Set up an outbreak. The "mystery" could be in finding out who caused it. Was it The Family again? Or was it a fringe group intent on ensuring the virus' destruction by literally showing what it can do? Maybe it ends up just being a bunch of fucking yokels backed by a mystery figure? Perhaps they could return to the "choose your own adventure" style of the series plot and allow the story to evolve as you progress and make different decisions, possibly implicating that Chris/Leon/Jill/Protagonist are actually partly responsible in some indirect way?

Then look at Sherry, someone actually experienced with the good and bad of a "beneficial" virus. Depending on her viewpoint, she could conflict with the other characters. Maybe she thinks researching Progenitor for the greater good will stop further casualties? Maybe she thinks what she experienced from the G-Virus should never be risked upon another person. There's potential for a complete branching point in the series with the player being given the choice to destroy the virus or allow the research to continue, each one with profound consequences. You could branch the series off into two separate universes from that one point (or not). Maybe in one universe, saving the virus leads The Family to (accidentally or whatever) spark heavy-duty incidents requiring military action. In the universe where the virus is destroyed, you can focus on smaller, localized outbreaks pertaining to the viruses we already know.

I also want a fucking G outbreak already. Stop introducing new viruses and go back to the classics. You could even say "lol foreshadowing" with Ada's line in Umbrella Chronicles worrying about what G would do in a similar situation. Give us the sort of creatures seen in BIO4's "Stylish" version that became Devil May Cry; hybrid, vague and grotesque.

A G-Virus outbreak would be fantastic.

No "Family", no politics/political setting, no returning/burnt-out heroes, no goofy side-characters with lame comedic puns, no real answers and over-baked concept... just utter fucking G-chaos.

Honestly, RE7 with C-virus zombies (new strain) and a conclusion to Ada/Leon would be enough for me. Focusing on Progenitor or G-virus will just make RE more convulated than it already is.

I just want RE7 to be simple and effective. Oh, and it would be awesome if the game takes place in France.

What happened to the RE5 underground cavern with the sonnentreppe flowers ? & also to the Global Pharmacieutical Consortium ? so many plot holes left in between major titles.

You raise an interesting ethical point because so far researchers or scientists in RE were always, always motivated by kind of more evil than thou aspirations, narcissique satisfaction or financial greed. When I started to write my FF, I asked myself what kind of Bio-ethicals border would be should T or G virus help curation of cancers or whether Lickers brain cells fought alzeimer ? I'm not asking for something realistic like you do but simply create an environment other than the usual black & white, I got nothing against a politico-scandalous driven story as long as it's well told, well investigated by the protagonists, I'm fine.

I must say that I don't quite like your proposed script First the popular heroes of the license are too fucked up to have depths, flaws and everything that good characters recquire, most of them don't even have a backstory & when some of them does like Sherry, it's meager, uninteresting at best or just not well handled enough to provide a background or a internal conflict with the character. Been years since I've read the novels but I think only SD Perry did a good job with the characters.

Oh, and it would be awesome if the game takes place in France.
              Amen. And Cocorico!!

I agree with this. The modern gameplay would work well with G-type creatures and they're certainly more horrific than any C-Virus monsters from RE6.

                    lol

Truth is, I wasn't even being patriotic or arrogant when I was saying that :p

England could be just as fine as France. It would be a great way for Capcom to give an occidental setting but a little bit different than the US.

We've already seen China, Africa, South America, Russia.....

What do you think of these places for the next resident evil? India, canada or Paris, the mysterious island where is mentioned the alex wesker in resident evil 5: lost in nightmare.

As characters I would choose, Jake, Claire, Jill, Barry.

Amen to that brother, we don't want that overcomplicated bullshit anymore, just an old fashioned survival horror !

Didn't CAPCOM suggest a series reboot due to the poor response RE6 had? At least a return to Survival Horror Roots? I hate to say it as much as I loved RE4 and its innovative game-play, the series has slowly stayed from what it once was. Silent Hill hasn't gone too far from its original game-play lay out, I think RE needs to rediscover itself. Aside from the story having run all over the place since RE5 (Well RE4 to be honest) I think the game needs to learn how to be scary all over again. RE1 REMAKE was great, but sadly due to bad sales they decided to overhaul the gameplay that would be RE4. I think RE1 REMAKE did bad because it was on the GC and had a very limited audience. Perhaps, they should find a good balance in gameplay mechanics that allows the game to flow, yet be terrifying. You just can't go into it like its a call of duty game, with huge guns, loads of ammo and call it Resident Evil. I haven't been scared by Resident Evil in a long time. Its slow transformation into a action title has been interesting but the series can be so much more and do so much better. Dial it back with the mutates, bring in the classic zombies, and use your mutates wisely. Simply the template of how many virus there are, keep it simple. T-Virus = reanimation, G Virus = Mutational. There have been so many side stories, and characters abandoned its just ridiculous. Bring realism back to the characters, physics, and calculate what the game needs to present. Too long has this series been predictable and formatic to a T. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe without the orginal creator this series will never be what it once was.

The t-Virus doesn't reanimate, that's actually the G-Virus. All viruses in the series are mutational.

Notizie Bot = It would be interesting to a revelation-style gameplay, darks, exploration is more Horror, the monster that I liked in resident evil 6 is (Ustanak), this is something that Tirant other Tirant, a mutation, I would have liked if in Chapter 6 instead of ' ustanak, were introduced these new versions of the tyrant.

I personally don't want politics involved on a large scale. I preferred the smaller scale politicians like the police chief being in on it, and the biohazards being restricted to smaller areas. This whole world wide outbreak just sort of killed the conspiracy, and it felt more isolating and secluding on the smaller scale. It also seemed more believable for the character you were controlling to be able to do something about it all when it was a more manageable outbreak and the larger more world wide occurences just the threat that looms if you can't contain them.

What I would like for 7: Number one, no 'zombies' with weapons. I prefer the original T-virus zombies, but I also like the mutated versions like the T-abyss, C-virus, but like said it would be cool to get the G virus in on the action. Basically I want creepy creatures trying to eat me vs a dude with a rake. Though chainsaw ganados are always good for getting me to freak out as well ;) Character wise, no Ada or Leon! So tired of both of them. I really want Claire back. We are overdue for a female lead. Yeah yeah, I know we just had Revelations with Jill. But we have not had a numerical title in the series with a female lead since 3!! What I think would be the coolest is a double pairing of Jill/Barry and Chris/Claire. Swapping partners occasionally (we've never had two females together!!) We haven't really had a scenario in the woods yet... (not counting the mansion entrance in the original or the trail from the house to the village in 4). Also, we need a new primary villan and not a bunch of red shirt villians.
