It seems that nobody really want a character to represent the series as a whole.
While I think that sticking to only one character should not be disregarded, I kind of guess what you mean.

The problem is, RE6 starred both and it kind of changed the rules for the series. Normally, the episodes alternate between those two characters and I can't see Leon or Chris as the main character of RE7 because, usually, the main character of a new entry is someone we haven't seen in the last main series game.
Logically, Claire or Jill should star in RE7.Comment
