If there was a 'Thanks' option on this forum B.Zork, you'd get one! Even RE started as a reboot of another franchise.

Although I must admit I wasn't initially calling for a reboot, there are plenty of ways of starting fresh without rebooting / remaking RE1 again, such as a title set long before RE1 dealing with the origins of the virus . As you say, it's more about preserving the universe nowadays. How many times do we have to put up with Ada's ambiguous loyalties, a T-Virus Wesker turning up or? How many times does an outbreak of zombies / bio weapons have to occur before it stops being scary and just becomes comical? I feel that RE4 could have done more to seperate itself from the first titles.

Zombie games have moved on and in so manny different ways, from DayZ to The Walking Dead, although I appreciate that they're not exactly survival horror. Resident Evil 6 failed because it tried to be too much to too many people and wasn't good at anything. If they're going to rediscover the essence of RE and interprit that for a 2015 audience then there is going to have to be change.

The only other modern games series that I can think of with a history as complicated as Resident Evil is the Metal Gear series, but that spans a longer time period, has its tongue firmly in its cheek and isn't afraid to move on when a particular avenue is exhausted.

That's a ridiculous line of thought right there. That's like saying "people weren't happy with Transformers 2, so sequels should never be made to anything."

no it's not because it will be exactly the same , capcom will change something and fans will kick off like they always do. there will laways be someone that hates it.

RER is not so good. They should just make RE6 with better encounter design and pacing and that'd be good.

Keep the movement versatility of 6 or no fucking sale.

There are very significant pieces of RE6 that are like classic RE as well (like 90% of Leon's campaign).

A Resident Evil title in the same vain as Revelations, expected to sell over 5+ million copies (if this is the big game revealed at E3 Capcom expects massive sales from). This would need to be a console release, probably cross gen PS360/PS4/XB1, if by Revelations he means more horror focused, we could be looking at the most horror focused AAA title the series has not seen for years.

Yep, the fanbase is not doing Capcom any favors here, WE want that horror focused game, the critics expressed their desire with RE6's reception. Then we have faulty wires like these that just add confusion to the message.

Of course not the movie universe version of her but a game version of her. If the games and movies exist side by side in different universes then a game version of everyone from the movies would also exist. Also, it would be a cash cow to fans solely of the movies cause they'd probably pick up the game if they are fan of her.
