Resident Evil 7 at E3 2014?

Honestly, what would be the point in using umbrella or that crappy neo-umbrella? Same goes with reusing the t-virus. The one thing the games of recent times did right was creating better, more interesting viruses. The abyss and c-viruses were actually quite good, it's just they were placed within a crappy game with a mediocre story. I don't mean the abyss ought I loved revelations.

We don't need umbrella or a successor, we need something better or at least different enough.

Umbrella was an evil shadow corporation, we do need that, its part of what made the series great. What we don't need are any more of these pussy warlords who get a virus and take over chunks of the world with it.

They did it in RE4(Saddler), RE5(Wesker), and RE6(Carla/Simmons). 3 games of this concept and they never made it really work, and the fact that Wesker was one of the warlords and they STILL didn't make it really work is still infuriating.

In all honesty I'm surprised they just haven't had armies of dumbfucks using Weskers RE5 Vitamin B shots.

I don't see the use of warlords as the issue, more that Capcom haven't had a great mix of characters with interesting relationships between them that the game explores fully.

The Walking Dead games told better tales about survival between small groups of characters than any RE game ever did without needing a big shadowy organisation either.

Do we know for certain that this game will take place during current events and not earlier in the timeline? If this isn't going to be a numbered entry then I would think there isn't anything stopping them from creating a game in the Raccoon City time frame. (Pre or post destruction)

Now he'll be like Leon. It opens with Claire getting attacked by Hunters/Zombies. He drops in all kung-fu style, destroys them effortlessly, then slowly turns to the camera and says "Claire, your night in shinning armor has arrived". Then fades to Resident Evil Enhanced Veronica. Sounds so much like Leon there.

Better not be Steve though.. Barry or Billy would be excellent.

Technically, the two characters that haven't been seen in a decade are Rebecca and Barry. If this information is true, I very much suspect that Rebecca and Barry will be returning as playable characters. The third one is anyone's guess. And seeing as how it's not a sequel to RE6, so it's a side game, it is most likey going to be Revelations 2. Probably another title to fill in the gap between RE3 and RE4, what Rebecca and Barry were up to during that time, which would be another viral outbreak scenario. It makes sense when you think about it. "Revelations", being that they are revealing what happened with these two characters and the events that occurred during that time period.

That being said, I suspect zombies, and some horror elements. This could wind up being an interesting game. Really looking forward to E3.

If is is prequel then please be set between RE5 and RE6. Not so far in the past. Also my money are on Claire, Rebecca and Alex Wesker.
