My interest in the series was still at a height at the time this trailer launched, and I remember spending a couple of hours pouring over what little there was between this and a few press screens Capcom released in 2002 trying to work out what the real idea behind the online title was going to be.
It's such a shame it was, even with the general love for the title, quite an uneven release. Aside from the obvious changes in scope to make it work and get it out on time, the way it was handled worldwide and the general clunky concept never quite met what they probably originally wanted.
That said, while everyone says they should bring it back, I personally say they need to come back to the idea at least if not the same games released and given the current online abilities could possibly meet or even surpass the original idea. Can't be any worse than ORC's online and I didn't even really dislike that online component (just disliked the game like most people).
