Things like Battle Modes and extra play modes are generally quite cheap to knock up. The re-jigged item placement in The Director's Cut, for example, isn't that hard to do either. Heck, RES had a random item placement mode.

I would have to disagree, I liked the more "reserved" outfits from older games but some of the over the top ones that have come from recent titles are great. Also, I like how you hate on gangster Leon in RE4 when the real gangsta style was Chris in REmake.

To be honest I don't think the use of ORC footage is an issue. It's plainly been done because they don't want to use any footage that looks over 15 years old. I'm just glad this report is getting an update at all. It could easily have been ignored.

Has it been determined that they don't have the original assets for the backgrounds??? That question keeps getting dodged in interviews too.

It is not determined for this game, probably pre-2000 with the classic RE games that's understandable but at least higher-resolution renders should've been made.

This was infact discussed a couple weeks ago but it somehow got diverted and fizzled out abit. The fact that RE3 retained 640x480 renders for the SourceNext release but none for RE2 which was made a year or two before it's successor.

Also if they are so adament in keeping the 4:3 aspect ratio with the tilt-scanning/scolling for widescreen users, they could ideally make re-renders at 2560x1920.
