      A Gaiden remake that fits into the canon sounds superb to me. I don't know if NewsBot would be interested, but if needed he or I can help making the story fit and tie in better with the series.

        Enigmatism415 your in. I'm trying to get a tool ready that may be of use to you. It's to convert .gbs Gameboy music to midi. That way you'll have an easier time do rearrangements and to turn that to .seq and so on. It's all down to what Mark says.

          The code seems that it can definitely be compiled in a Win32/64 dev environment.


          If something comes of this project, most importantly, a skilled 3d environment/background artist, I'll be happy to see what I can do for a PSone build - using the Bio 2 engine, of course.

          Just to clarify, the Bio 2 engine supports 16 camera angles per room, with 3 light sources per camera. Up to 8 enemies per room and 32 objects (obtainable items, such as herb) per room/area.

          In addition, plenty more than enough storage for scenario, room, item, enemy and system flags that can be used for scripting events and so on.

          Literally everything can be modified or programmed on assembly level - enemy AI, new title screen/intro routines, weapon/enemy damage, item mixture/combine techniques, new map/inventory screen (no texture mod crap), and just about anything else you can ever think of.

          In other words, the Bio 2 engine is ideal.

              You'd also need to ditch Lucia's powers and the "B.O.W." to make Gaiden even remotely work in the canon universe. Likewise with weapon-wielding Zombies.

              Apart from examples like those, Gaiden would fit into the canon well because it was originally written within it. M4 then embellished it and added nonsense.

                Sounds like I have your approval Newsbot. I probably would have kept the sense ability for Lucia until the BOW leaves her body but I guess it doesn't need to be kept. Would you approve of adding to couple extra enemies like Cerberus so there would be a little more variety?

                        It's plausible. I'll most likely have him wearing a short sleeve shirt like in RE4. That doesn't mean it can't be an extra outfit.

                          If you can get me the MIDI tracks, I can pretty much rearrange and remix the tracks however you'd like, and bounce them into the desired format(s). I'm not really familiar with PS development, so I might need some guidance when bringing the tracks into their final forms.

                            Mark or Sonic may be able to fill you in on how PS processes it's music. The simple way I can explain it to you is it's like a midi but rather then using midi instruments it's replaced with sound samples. It gives better quality sound while still maintaining small file sizes. As to how I'd like the music, to put it simple just have it sound and feel like a song from RE. Their maybe a couple songs I'd advice you on when the time comes but other then that your free to develop how you'd like. Once Mark compiles that software either you or I can take the tracks and convert to midi. Then you can use you music genius to compose the music.

                            Since I can officially say a team for this project is being formed I'd love to hear some input on a name for said team. That way I or someone else can get a logo made.

                            On a further note I originally thought of calling this project Resident Evil: Flashback since the only true definition for Gaiden is tale or side story, I'm open to suggestions that make sense to the project. In other words IGAS 1.5 is technically "RE2 Prototype" and Sonic and Gemini's "Behind the Mask" I just that, going from 1st person to 3rd or behind the mask.
