Hopefully you can find people capable of programming a game on the PSX, I'd help if I had the needed experience for this kind of project.

Any and all help is appreciated.

The fruits of my labor will be posted by this weekend. I think I'll just call the game Resident Evil: Gaiden Dual Shock version. I don't think I'll post everything on the new thread in one go but the first post will be constantly updated with new info. when the time comes.

Hey Mark, any news on the compiling?

I'll see what I can find about PSX programming, it doesn't seem too complex to do something simplistic.
But what SDK will be used? The Sony leaked one? Because that's the only one I can find and it seems to not be legal.

I'm not sure. Gemini might be able to shine some light on this matter. I most likely has all the tools and can point in the right direction.

A bored friend did some fancy stuff with the original soundtrack, and told him that perhaps you might be interested in his collaboration in the project...

If you are interested let me know by pm.

I'd love to see him do some original arrangements. He did a fine job on the remixes. However Gaiden's OST is trashy, it's too actiony sounding.

His Not Tomorrow cover is fantastic, beautiful. Getting chills down my spine Love the Latin flare he throws in mid-way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcRz...qdSG0__s8CaEHw

I would be delighted to help with the music for this project. I do not see the necessity of working strictly with psf files (PlayStation Native SoundFont). As far I know, PSX can handle very well mp3 files. I also think it would be cool for a remake to rebuild several pieces that just do not stick with the background of the game. I will be alert to your answers ^^

Ultimacloud123, why dont you remake the game in the same vein as Resident Evil Remake? or closer to Resident Evil Zero?

I need to know the hardware limitations of the PSX. If MP3 can be used without making the game laggy then I'm okay with it. I just want to keep it sounding like a RE game. Some of the songs tempo will have to be lowered to get that creepy feel.

Undead Sega I want to keep it with the feel of the other 2 projects. When its finished I would love to see a "remake" but right now I want to keep it strictly PSX graphics. This way there would be a base to build off of. The tough part is creating the pre rendered backgrounds using limited detailed 8bit graphics. Once they are all created then someone with advanced skills can create higher resolution and detailed backgrounds.

I think a short tempo not give it a proper atmosphere either. Maybe some background music have to be recomposed. Silent Hill series and some Konami and Namco games use MP3/WAV files. But if you want to conserve that RE ATMOSPHERE we can use PSF instead of MP3

Out of curiosity, what did you do to get the notes for those songs? Did you convert them to midi to recompose them? If so what program/procedure did you do/use?

Since no one is giving me a better name for the game, it will be called Operation Starlight. As for a team name any objections to "TEAM RACCOON"? I need to do the last finishing touches to the menu screen and I'll see about starting the new topic tomorrow or Sunday once a team name is established. With the main topic we can further discuss and show related material.

                                Team L.I.G.H.T

Doing some more research, it appears RE1/2/3 takes rendered models for items, and scales them down for the inventory slots. I can do the slot sprites, but I cannot do models. RE2 http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W3XvZDkHQI...ident+evil.png

I whipped this up quickly due to boredom. Needs more work to look like scaled down models, but this was a quick draw.

If they're that detailed, I can do the inventory slot sprites, but that's my limitation sadly. Font too, and the inventory screen.
