After watching the four videos on biohazardfrance.net, it's really hard to guage this game just yet. I didn't like the fact that all of the areas that Claire and Moira visited were almost bare of any enemies, and jump scares. There were only a handful of enemies in those prison areas. I hope they change this in the final product. It seemed like the player was literally breezing right through the game.

Its probably an early point in the game and they're trying to build tension.

Nice to see the game being played buy someone with skill.

So far this does confirm that the sprint from RE6 is back, you can attack/move while crouching, you don't have to charge melee attacks like in Revelations 1(something I hope they don't change, the new interface seems to show you what item you need to get through locked doors, and its nice to see Moiras melee weapon attack speed. I wasn't sure how effective it was in the first video that showed it.

Also...I might have saw a finishing move for Claire on one of the afflicted. I swear I saw her kick the body like in Silent Hill, but it was really fast and could have been a knife attack.

^ shame. Although the new voice is already growing on me - I still think it sounds like an older Claire to me - especially when she is knifing and jumping over stuff.. Yet in other parts, she doesn't.. Hmm
When she knifed the jumping zombie against the shelving, at the end, she sounded alot like Alyson there - maybe just mimicking?
Seems like the whole prison area is a lot like the movie Saw. Note how they're obviously being watched perform set tasks..
The way the key on the body is set up just out of reach, and then the body is released from an electronic lock.. interesting

That newer HD video also shows added scenes, more enemies than the playable demo build shown previously (enemies appear on the way back with the key - before there were none)
Added NPCs and small cutscenes are also there, more dialogue.. seriously guys (unless you don't wanna see spoilers) watch the new one 2 posts back.
Still think it would be better if the enemies would follow you through doors though - she literally sprinted to the door and escaped.

It's sad that Alyson is not returning to voice Claire but this older voice sounds fitting. Her voice can't stay the same for 15 years, I mean she can't always sound 18.

I don't think anyone thought she sounded like a teenager in Degeneration.

The new voice isn't bad, but it's not Claire. This is the voice Jill should have had in the first game. I just can't get behind the mindset of "We're bringing Claire back because she's a fan favorite!" but then recast her fan favourite voice actress. Until I hear her voice proper in trailers, I'm going to hope this is just a stand in for TGS. Unlikely sure, but I'm having trouble getting excited for Claire's return.

Why am I suddenly expecting Moira and Polly to have played with their dads guns as kids, resulting in Polly dying.

Good point. The thing is, a very small percentage of the fandom would've been up in arms over Claire getting recast in Degeneration. Enough time had passed between CODE: Veronica and Degeneration that most of us expected a recast. But Degeneration gave us Alyson Court back, followed by Darkside Chronicles and Operation Raccoon City... She kind of became a staple after three unlikely reappearances.

I'm not completely opposed to the new voice, based on what we've heard so far. But I think I'm mostly bothered by the fact the recast wasn't hired based on being able to imitate Alyson Court. That's sort of a first, in recent years. D. C. Douglas' likeliness to Waugh was one of the many reasons fans embraced him so much. And, as much as it pained me to see Sally Cahill and Paul Mercier recast in RE6, their recasts managed impressive imitations.

Starting to think this game is just filler while we wait for RE7.

And also thinking RE7 was cancelled soon after P.T. was announced for being too similar to RE6.. and now they're working on a new open-world RE7. Anyone else think so? Come on, let's be honest, if Capcom release RE7 and its like RE6 (i.e. shit), its gonna be a disaster for the brand compared to what Konami are gonna be serving in terms of horror (which is a masterclass in marketing, at the very least).

The main series can end for all I care, if we get these smaller self contained games that follow more of the original series formula and actually let the characters grow some, then I got no complaints because thats infinitely better than RE5 and RE6 in my opinion.

I'm all for introducing new characters, having some cheesy action, and changes in the games universe but goddamn have things been so over the top, bloated, and out of focus these last 6-7 years.

The charm of the original games is that there was some focus, Umbrella was behind everything and we had these characters going against them. Since then its been villain of the week warlords out for global domination, or helping others try to achieve global domination. Thats just so uninteresting to me, I know I'm not alone here.

Smaller self contained stories seem to be the way to go, if they can come out for a new direction in the games universe that isn't more of this super secret organization controlling the world and make it work, I'll be there. If they don't, I'll be sticking to the side games, if they don't follow suite that is.

I like the new voice, sounds older and more refined. Don't get me wrong, court was a great actress, but as I've said previously, capcom has been looking to replace most of the old actors, starting in uc with Douglass replacing Richard, then continued in rev with Michelle replacing the previous Jill, and seen agiain with 6 in which Leon, sherry, and Ada had different actors.

Things change and, while sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's good as well.
