  • Capcom's latest policy...

Is the end nigh? To me it just doesn't make sense that they start ignoring their other IPs.

So what then, they're going to solely rely on Street Fighter DLC/Monster Hunter/Resident Evil? They're just digging their own grave.

PS: This should probably be in the Gaming in General section.

Part of me wants my 17 years of being a Resident Evil fan back when I see so much more of this shit, but at the same time this is unrealistic in a lot of ways, especially when you've spent years flipping off your own customers.

Actually there's absolutely nothing wrong with this. Only Capcom's AAA games are Resident evil, Dead Rising, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter. Everything else isn't AAA. So games like Dragons Dogma are still possible in the future even if they haven't sold 2 millions.

I don't think DR3 has moved 2 million units. Does mean that the series will not continue? What else will Capcom Vancouver work on?

DR3 was released on the PC a little while ago. I believe 2 millions are already sold.

Let's get over the CAPCOM circlejerk and realize that most companies in the industry follow this policy.

Re: DR3 sales - Capcom's prediction was only for the XB1 last FY and it was 1.3 million and it passed that sometime in March apparently. I haven't seen if there was PC predictions this year. Dragon's Dogma was also set somewhere under 2 million expected, and also expectations easily.

All this is going to change is that no future sales expectations will ever be below 2 million for any of it's titles. And if the titles struggle to reach those expectations they'll decide if there is a future of the franchise. That's not any different than how it was before even if the sales expectations were 1 million or 6 million... if it doesn't meet the set expectations it's reviewed.

This is also exactly the same as the yellow jorno work done on the "OH NOES CAPCOM HAS NOES MONEYS" thing last year. No one looks at the thing in actual context and realizes it's nothing big at all.

A storm in a glass of water. Really nothing to fuss about. Typical "pick and choose" clickbait Famitsu translations.

They are a business afterall, If something isn't going to sell why bother?. 2 mil seems alot less stupid than what i remember reading about SE's sales targets (7-9 mil IIRC)

So if we want REmake 2 we better hope this remastered version does well.

It'll never happen anyway.. maybe if it sold 10 million copies and every single one of those people were willing to pay for a remake of 2 in some kind of kick starter thing.. which also will never happen. Boo.
