  • Why "T"-Veronica?

From Alexia's records, the t-Veronica was basically created by adding plant and queen ant genes into the Progenitor virus, furthermore this virus (Veronica) was even completed several years before Birkin ended his work on the final and most commonly known t-Virus strain.

An interesting detail was that Darkside Chronicles (english voices at least) named the virus as just "Veronica virus", and it actually seems a more fitting name, since the virus is not related to any "T" strain, then I thought Capcom was going to start naming it as that, but more recent files (RE6) are still calling it t-Veronica.

So, if it's Progenitor based and not t-virus based, is there any actual reason for the t-Veronica to be called "T"?

It's called t-Veronica because it is a t-Virus. 't-Virus' is a general term for all weaponised variants of the original Progenitor Virus. Any virus created by adding improvements to Progenitor or incorporating genes from other viruses would come under the term 't-Virus', which is why there are so many differing strains throughout the series with various different effects. For example, the virus released in the mansion was the mutated V-ACT strain which created Crimson Heads. The virus released in Raccoon City was a different strain altogether, which created Lickers upon secondarily infected zombies. But to answer the original question, 'Veronica' is a t-Virus because it was created by adding the genes of plants and a queen ant into the original Progenitor Virus.

Things like the G and C Viruses are a different classification of virus altogether and are their own thing, hence the capitalised initial compared to the lower case 't' used in all supplemental texts.
