I thought there was hope, that they wouldn't continue to give more shit to the dead guy and would try to write a good story.
But no... What do I get instead?
Spoiler:
Female wesker. Complete with all the same plans, personality, and motives of Wesker.
It's like they're not even trying anymore. Just recycle RE5 and call it a game.Last edited by Guest; 03-08-2015, 02:36 PM.

Really now? u_u
But you're kinda right, CAPCOM didn't just came up with that.
They had ordered someone to write RE5, then he created this shitty backstory about Wesker and Spencer, CAPCOM gave its approval, and thus, the Wesker Children project was born.
Spoiler:
What upsets me about Alex isn't that she's part of the Wesker Children project,
it's that she is an exact copy of Albert Wesker.Last edited by Guest; 03-08-2015, 06:24 PM.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Wesker Children project in general.
Spoiler:
Alex isn't an exact copy of Albert. Going by that logic, Spencer and Albert are exact copies. Birkin too. The only similarity between them is that they desired the viral evolution of humanity, the whole point of the series.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Are you insinuating William's plan from the beginning was to wipe out humanity with the G-Virus, create a new breed of humans and rule the world as its God? Because I never felt that it was what he always wanted.Last edited by Guest; 03-08-2015, 06:49 PM.

Do you actually have a reason or are you just generally mopey?
Spencer wanted forced extinction, viral evolution and to rule over a superhuman species as a god. Albert Wesker wanted the same thing. Birkin wanted viral evolution without forced extinction or the desire to rule as a god, but he wanted power in exchange. Edward Ashford and James Marcus wanted to make only themselves superhuman while using Umbrella to gain power over the world. Viral evolution is the most important part of these plans and the Wesker Project was tied directly into it.
Spoiler:
Alex wanted the same thing as Spencer, but mostly just because she despised him and wanted to spite him. Her methods were also very different due to her fascination with fear. She also liked Albert, whereas Albert would've hunted her down to kill her if he knew about her. They are quite different characters in terms of personality and motivations.

Do you have to turn every opinion I give in this goddamn forum into a right/wrong debate? Really, dude. Just STFU.
No, I'll do that for you. I'll put you on my ignore list.

Hi, i was checking all the posts and i was like: XD
I would like to weigh in on the whole: "RE first games are way better than modern RE games!! RE5-6 are shit!! All new villains are so unoriginal!"
I think we all should see the bigger picture here. There is a psychological explanation for why we want the old survival horror games. Our mind keep fixating in all the things we loved when we were younger because it reminds us of a happier time. Is not that the new games are not good, is just because they can fight the "idealized" old games, so that's why most people hate RE4-5-6 and so..
I have the same feeling, even thought i just don't enjoy as much as the first games that doesn't mean they are bad games. They are just not "meant" for us. The younger generations seems to be more excited about them. Most of my students, and even my cousin and nephew enjoy the new more-action-oriented RE games.
Also everthing that newsbot and wrathborne wrote is right...
Any way, getting back to the original discussion. I would love to see what RE7 brings to the table. Lately i tried to focus more on the story that the actual gameplay, so it would be great to see where the series is going.
