Anyone pick up Revelations 2? (*Fawkin' spoilers beware*)
Well, I certainly didn't see that coming--mostly because I didn't bother looking up the leaked spoilers.
Speaking of which.
Spoiler:
I'm quite surprised they ending up using the Alex plot. Many people assumed he/she(myself included)would be the main villain in RE6. After that didn't pan out, I just assumed they would move along and pretend it was never mentioned. Needless to say, the game makes a lot more sense now.
Just beat episode 2 and holy fuck the ending made my stomach curl with fear! Tons of great atmosphere on the final section oh and the game sure isn't letting down its survival horror aspect one bit.
These fuckers are incredibly fast, a pain in the ass to fight, and due to the weak spot being in any of the 5 limbs(its random where it is) anytime I kill one in under 3 magnum rounds it feels like a huge relief. I'm going out on a limb and saying that these monsters are the first new monster type that is on par with the original BOWs(Though this monster was designed a long time ago, its just now being used).
Hey, I wasn't the only one who thought they looked like mutated smaller Tyrants.
I've watched a friend's stream of episode 1 (mostly just watched Barry's since it's obviously my most excited part about this whole game) and it does seem good even if there do seem to be flaws already showing up. Have no problem waiting to see how this game turns out and if going by episode 2, sounds like waiting for the retail version maybe worth the wait. Also, some say Raid is too grindy yet some are saying you level up fast. I still haven't 100% all of Raid in REV1. O_O
Cause everyone totally cares what I think~
I finished Claire's Chapter 2 scenario~ Spoiler:
So this was a pretty interesting chapter and it kinda upped the anty when it comes to gore and visual horror particularly with the mutations. The Terrasave guys were pretty cool and I was pretty bummed to see them go. Somethings up with Neil, though! The environment wasn't as memorable as the prison sadly. it was allot more 'run through' like 5 and 6 even though there was a bit of fetching with the helicopter parts. Poor Gabe though. That was rough. The one good thing I'll say about Claire's VA is she's pretty good when she gets emotional but otherwise I pretty much hate this rendition of Claire. She's so flat and boring. She never had trouble speaking with little girls before but suddenly Moira needs to tell her to back off. Yegh. Claire always had a bit of a lightness to her voice and this one is just so heavy and dark she doesn't feel fun. She feels like Chris Jr in a way.
I'm ready to get through Barry's and then go back to look for all the Tower Medals and Kafka images. The secret files have been one of my favorite parts! Barry being a paternal figure to Claire is new but not incredibly shocking. Next week can't come soon enough. I want to know what went down between Barry and Moira! I still think Polly is involved, but most of the mentions of her seem to indicate she's still alive.
And now Barry~ Spoiler:
"This will give us a 'HOLE' lot more options" Oh Barry. I love you. Why did they wait so long to bring him back!?
The entrance to the tower was sufficiently creepy. =]
Of course the Alex Wesker revelation was spoiled but there's still allot of unanswered questions. I assume the monster that appeared is Alex but it makes a bit sad that they'd already mutate her (and presumably kill her off) I feel like they create some good options for a reoccuring villain but they let them go lol.

When it says something comes out on a certain date it shouldn't mean after half the day is over. >.> Now I have to work til midnight so I don't even get to play it today orz....
Didn't you know? Incompetence is the wave of the future. It seems nobody can do anything right anymore these days.
Its available now for ps3 players!!! You have to go to spotlight on the Playstation Store however as searching it doesn't make it come up for some reason.
The question is if when I get off work at 4pm today (11:40 at the moment of typing this) if ep2 will be out. Hopefully it doesn't get released at the absolute end of the day.
I think it's pretty decent so far. The only complaint I have(which goes for all episodic downloads)is waiting for the episodes to be released at PSN's discretion.
March 3rd, Episode 2.
*Twiddles thumbs*
Thisssss! Last episode showed up nice and early so I expected the same thing with this one.

^ Yep. According to someone on Neogaf who has already played through the entire game, this is the episode where the Overseer's identity is revealed. So don't feel too bad if someone spoiled her identity for you unintentionally. :p
IGN just did a review of episode 2 and apparantly its far better than the first episode. Here's a good rundown without spoiling to much. I don't know how to put a spoiler tag so read with caution.
Has a few boss battles
Is 4 hours long
Much more challenging
Villain is revealed.
Well, I caved in since I had a few dollars of Steam store credit from TF2 item farming and bought Ep1.
Took me about 3 and a half hours to beat, I took my time and died a few times on the way. To my surprise, this game plays much smoother than Rev 1 and at times it feels like a darker RE4 on an Isle.
The verdict?
I'd say Ep1 is an 8.5/10.
While there is some of the hammy writing, there are some pretty funny throwbacks to game 1.
My computer kind of plays the game like crap so I cant enjoy it to the fullest unfortunately, but the atmosphere is pretty good(though you never feel isolated because you got a partner) the revnant monster type is the type of monster this series has needed for years.

I am still incredibly disappointed at how clean the game is, the graphic violence is damn near non existent, except when you fight the Revenants, who seem to be the only enemies you can splatter.
If you want to just buy the game for Raid mode, which is more fucking addictive than ever, $6 is dirt cheap for a good 30 + hours of fun.
The team who made this game needs to be in charge of any future RE titles. In 2 games they've managed to make me forget about how terrible the series has become the past decade and create something that has enough of the old and the new to keep old fuckers like me happy. I almost wouldn't mind the RE series continuing instead of rebooting as long as this team is in charge.
But I have no intentions of getting my hopes up, because we all know enough about Capcoms management at this point.
Game looks pretty meh, how are people's experiences?
I'm loving it !
controls feel good , atmosphere is cool , the story has me intrigued , people are saying the villain could be Annette or Alexia , If I had to choose I would say Alexia , unless it's Alfred back from the dead and back in Drag lol.
And the raid mode is even more fun then the 1st games.
It's the most addtive mini game I have played. Got my Claire character to level 34 so far.
