I hate cockroaches, especially the ones that can fly. Woke up a few months ago with one crawling all over me, so I had to wipe the bastards out.

Thanks for the history lesson Rob ;D There's a movie about the whole ordeal though? Any chance its public domain?

The guys doing the doco just happened to be in the right place at the right time when they met Wiebe apparently, and the whole thing began unravling around them - because of that it's kinda more than public domain knowledge. Anyone could have made this film if they asked the right questions to the right people based on whats out there, but there is one particular thing with Wiebe they said the right place right time thing about. They have admitted though the movie is slighly skewed towards Wiebe because of the way it started, the way they tried pacing the narative, and the comments that Mitchell gave them.

I did a bit of a google as well. No one has filled out the Wikipedia page with a lot of info, but there is an exceptionally non-bias group of reports I found on MTV (wow) which sum up some of the bits of what I've heard during the past several months and actually some bits and pieces I hadn't heard (especially from some of the people at TG).

I took a good 10-20 mins (maybe more) off my times as soon I went to playing the PC versions since you can skip the doors and a considerable number of the cutscenes both FMV and dialogue based. Also with RE2 there is an option to actually decrease the number of enemies so that it ran at a better speed on older machines. Now this is obviousy an unfair advantage but only against console times . . .

heh, heh, I do remember being able to lower the number of enemies on a RE 2 demo I had for the PC years ago. That did make it easier as my 11 year old self was finally able to survive the onslaught of zombies.

It would be very obvious if someone turned on the increased loading speed option on a PS2 with the game; either version as a matter of fact. The stage music for the following room plays before the door animation starts. The JPN version's default auto aim makes it a bit easier, as well as the lower enemy HP.

I tried sending a Zero tape... don't remember my record, but it was as fast as possible. I never got a response from anyone at TG.

I never heard of any lower enemy option in RE2 for the PC, was this just on a demo version?

I've been talking with Ekudeht on GameFAQs (some speed run guy) and he says there is a lower time than 59:17 without the use of a rocket launcher. However the run is done on the Japanese version, which is of course easier and the text scrolls by quicker as Japanese text is generally shorter. A video will be online in a few months I think.

Hah, with some practice, you too can accomplish these times

Those screens are for Survivor on the PS1 right?

Yeah. The first one was one I'm proud of... I was super bored and just explored around for 40 something hours...

Holy sh*t I didnt' notice that till now! You spent 44 hours on that game? I mean what was so special about exploring. Were there enemies to keep killing, oh and how many days did you span it out on?

Mostly spent it researching enemy behavior and their AI programming, exploiting the zero damage glitch (if your back is to the enemy, they can't harm you--save for zombies--they can turn you around).

Yeah, like if you're facing a wall, the enemy just tries (in vain) to get in front of you to try and attack you... Zombies however can turn you around and bite you...

I'd upload a movie I made, but my FTP is being gay...
