Bar Ada Capcom doesn't seem to like strong female sidekicks. They need to be cissy and have people constantly save them. You'd think Ashley could at least point a pistol and pull the damned trigger. I guess it's a Japanese thing...in some parts a woman is still expected to be demore, submissive and have tiny feet.

i LOVE jill's boots! i've been looking for a pair of engineer style brown boots like that for a while. ever since i saw her boots, tall boots are my second favorite thing to wear on my feet.

Yes. Hence why I said sidekicks. Jill is a strong character, and Claires not bad. Ada is the only non-main character who has a spine and is a woman. Even Rebecca is portrayed as pretty weak when you don't get to play her as a main character.
