I wouldn't if I was you. There is at least 2 copies of this build of the game running somewhere as Dot and Alzaire had pointed before.

I was wondering why the guy on the movie shows everything to the camera except for the disc. I think it doesn't have any kind of mark from Capcom that makes it look as an original beta disc. It should be a copy of the original one.

As everyone is saying now, a leak is inminent... it would be a great christmas gift if it happens and it's uploaded on the web so everybody could download it .

Yeah I know a leak will happen very soon. I would spend $2000 on a copy, cause my PS2 has Mod-Chip in it anyways.

I have played this before (not this exact build) but one where Leon had a different costume. See my friend used to have it and I got a copy of it from him (on CD-R) also but my copy doesn't work anymore due to severe scratches and it was very buggy. Plus mine locked up allot in the Precinct.

My probs with this guy:
1. Needs to learn how to videotape.
2. He chose Leon! We've seen Leon. Elza! Elza!
3. He seemed to have kept a lot hidden.

Also, stupid question. If this is a Japanese game (from [i]Japan[i/]) where they speak Japanese, why is the text in English?

It's really tough to say how to approach this. As been said by me and Dot, we're pretty sure now from this evidence and other stuff that this build of 1.5 is definitely in several more hands than it used to be 2 months ago, Assembler from his forums has also stated that there are others who have it and it's just a matter of time. On one hand, it definitely looks like our chances are rising really well, as long as it keeps being copied or changing hands, it will come to us and maybe soon. On the other hand, we aren't 100% sure how many more hands this build did reach, and it may just be a few who are also not willing to release it and this guy may be the only person willing to forgo any secrecy deal he might made (which most likely would be the case for 1.5) and sell it openly, but $9k is a lot of money to risk when evidence points to chances that the build is spreading to a point where it might leak freely eventually. If this had been a different build, say the final beta, as opposed to what is obviously the same build Curator's video came from or at least a build from the same middle-era of 1.5 that we know seems to be spreading or at least coming out more into the open, then yeah we might have jumped on it, but as of right now Dot has already said he isn't willing to spend that kind of money, and the rest of the staff aren't going to either as far as I know (mainly because we can't afford that kind of expense).

But yeah, it's advised not to spend that much money right now. But I say if you want to give it a shot, go for it. Lord knows if I had the money, I'd do it. I'm sure if you could get it at a more "reasonable" price like a $2k offer, you could definitely be reimbursed a bit from enough of us and release the game. But that's all up to you guys. He has been contacted though by some of us, so hopefully we can get a reply and see what he has to say.

Edit: Biohazard uses a lot of English text, and the voices are also in English in the JP versions. So it's nothing strange. A lot of JP games actually use english terms in the menus and such sometimes, it's not uncommon.

Wait, what? You've played an earlier build of 1.5 before? I assume you mean Era #2, when Leon wore civilian-type clothes (jeans and a jacket) and the female zombies were still in the game. Excuse the skepticism, as we've heard this kind of story many times, but are you joking? Obviously with your disk scratched up you have no proof, and of course I assume your friend no longer has it. Is there anything you could tell about this situation. Like where/how your friend got it, ect. ect. Also, don't get upset if nobody believes you haha. Like I said, we've heard that kind of story many times...

But the only thing is, if this is indeed a 1.5 build, where'd it come from and more importantly, how has it not made it onto the net yet. I'm not saying I don't believe, but as Alzaire said, this kind of thing has happened so much that most of us now immediately dismiss people when they claim to have or have played early builds on Biohazard games.

I doubt it'd be unlockable as it's Chris alternative from Sega Saturn, what makes the Sega Saturn release special is the battle mode, zombie wesker, hunter variant & golden tyrant which is an exclusive unless they ported it too the Deadly Silence as well.




Also the psx resident evil 2 dual shock version contains Extreme Battle where you can play as Chris in this green suit

I mean the one with Leon in his leather jacket and jeans that was shown in some of the very early videos. I don't think I ever saw that one. Are you sure it wasn't one of the supposed changes in costume? Y'know, the ones where you can change his clothing because his is blood stained and damged, or to increase storage. Actually, I don't think I ever saw any of those either...at least, I can't remeber seeing more than the drawlings of what some of them might be like, such as Elza in RPD body armour and Leon in the Umbrella Stormtrooper uniform.

You mean the brown & white one?, It's also worth noting that you can change into a blue stars costume in the N64 version.

EDIT: I thought it was brown my mistake "due to the crappy quality of the video it's just blue and white" although in the video if you closely during 19-26 seconds you'll notice a line going from his armpit to hand which isn't visible in the render at the end of this video or certain other parts of the video.

When I first saw the video I fought it was everything I accepted, the graphics looked better than I pictured in my mind. The cut scene opening seemed better than the released version, with the sleeker looking graphics & higher blood levels. I remembered back in March 1997 reading play station magazine about it containing movie live action FMV like the film in resident evil, but capcom said it was just awful, I expected to see that in this RE2 1.5 but it wasn't featured. I thought looking at the you tube movie file that maybe, thought, this person is only using music, to make the video more commercial, or maybe because the beta has no sound. The beta for biohazard 2 had no sound & it stalled a lot between cut scenes, it would not boot up. But maybe this version is perfect and this person is just showing the game on special PS1 with a special screen. Maybe if this person can charge 1,000 000 yen for Bio Hazard 2 1.5 I have the right to charge 1,000 000 yen for Bio Hazard 2 Leon version B: this is not a game just for the rich.

BH2 Beta v.2 has music/sound last time I checked. Just no FMV.

It's just a modded PS1 and the LCD screen attachment. Or the disk is an original copy and/or possibly bootable on a normal PS1. But my guess is modded. Nothing special.

The music he chose is likely just for dramatization. Especially when you consider what songs he chose.

This build has sound and such, I'm sure. Just too bad he decided to overlay it with those songs.
