And even if it does exist, the chances of us seeing it is lower.

I know the feeling, the only way you’re ever going to buy this edition, is stumble upon a person who bought in northern England, and have a good knowledge if you know England is to speak to these people about football. That’s all they talk about around here. These people, who bought, either don’t know what they bought and just packaged away in their collection years ago, or sold it off in a car boot sale. I don’t mean to sound callous for a guy who loves to get my hands this version myself, but the truth is the truth especially in Yorkshire, England their very closed mouthed about selling things off, to outsiders. They seem to stick to their friends inner circles, depends on who is around here. And they usually do business discussions in pubs within Yorkshire.

This is a local country for local people, there's nothing for you HERE.
        See you in hell.

Why the hell do you think I escaped? I used to live 30 miles North of Newcastle, in Amble. It's called the Friendliest Port. It is a lie. The place is Chav Central.

However, I do know a lot of folk who know a lot of folk in the gaming community up there. If it's in the North and someone is looking to sell I shall soon know.

Wow, well first off, I like how a majority of chris26's posts in this thread are just "" and it seems like almost every one of his post's are edited. I'm not saying that this can't be true, but its just very unlikely that Capcom would release one or a couple different alterations of a game. Also combined with the fact that I have never heard of this before doesn't help.

As others have said, I'd prefer ocular proof before I start believing anything.

I have just added some pictures of the special scenes that are included on the Saturn version. These are just screen shots from a 1996 demo disc with censored bars across, but it's the only proof and not much at that. They are featured on page 1.

Well, I may be missing something, but how do these prove that there was a super special Chinese version with lots of extra content at all? It looks like the color intro with big censored bars slapped across it.

Hull is Chav central actually before the media jumped onto the whole Chav title we called them townies.

If you look at this intro FMV it shows a special arm bite scene with dog biting into Joesph Frost arm. A different B&W version not in colour version of intro that shows only bits when you slow it down on your DVD player, those Chinese scenes contained some of those scenes with censored bars across, but I can't prove the rest of it. Maybe Capcom will reveal someday!?!

I've seen footage from the Saturn version, and have slowed it down myself. There are a few things that seem off, the censor bars - should have differing if they were initially used as an overlay on the original footage and from what I've seen from any sort of beta files and/or hidden censorship - the intended audience's language was kept in OR the original Japanese script was left in.

Even if it was ripped directly from a disc, and anti-aliased it would still leave remnants on the footage below.

It makes no sense to have English on a CHINESE release, of a JAPANESE developed game due to what I have been told from a few people from other companies, if a game is to be released in China, then the script and/or source gets sent to the sector there before the source is sent to English translators, due to the similarity and/or borrowed use of a few sections between the Japanese and Chinese language.

I also don't recall demo discs, even for the "full-screen trailers" using that video ratio well... ever but my memory is pretty shoddy on that one there.

And the screens (and the "special arm bite scene" is a fast frame capture right before the blood splatter effect shows up, it's much more easily seen when the footage itself is slowed down) with the censor bars look like desaturated sections of the Uncut opening, and a couple of those shots look like the image has been flipped and/or mirrored horizontally. I've just gone over all of the versions of the RE1 Opening that I have, and in all honesty I've never heard of such a thing, even considering some of the initial plans/ideas for RE1 that were scrapped between versions and there's just a few things that I've pointed out here that make it seem somewhat fishy in my opinion.

I'd love to see just what demo disc you got the footage from, as it could actually be tracked as even tester/beta, pre-release and media copies tend to have a specific serial number allocated to them regardless of the game's status/version.

*Shrugs* Pretty much going with DM on this one.

...alright, you're gonna have to put the whole video online. The screen shots you have just show the dog with a big censored bar across it, destroying all the detail beneath. I can't see any difference between the normal version. If we have the actual video we should be able to do strange and wonderful things with it.

That's from a European PS1 demo disc. Nice try.

                          Here's the video, too:

Chris, if you have the actual demo disc that video is on, I'd give you lots of money for it. Only I don't trust liars.

Oh, I've got it confused. I always figured the German disc was the censored one, with their love of censoring stuff. I need that German disc (SCED-00355)! .

search http://snesorama.us/ there's a download of it on there.
France and Germany got re1 uncensored with burnt in subs for each language due to a fuck up.
When capcom realized there mistake they put a download to the original uncut colour no subs intro on there website for a short period which to this day I swear is a 256 recolor job.
